take off your orange and blue glasses. Way more people hate Brady and the Patriots than hate Cam.

Newton is very forgettable outside of the AU family

Purely on race. Black players will always list a white guy as over rated and a black guy as under rated.

Dan is the most overrated QB to ever play in the NFL. I always thought you guys would just kind of let him go once he left AU. Dude played for one season and it was a sleazy deal all together.

I dont believe there is much evidence of blatant racism or institutional racism floating around in our country. That said I think Cam Newton is an exception. The absolute hate and rhetoric that has surrounded him the last 7 or 8 years has been astonishing.

Is it...selective racism? I mean Dak Prescott is black. Shares many of the same qualities. Took a bad college team and single handedly made them much better. Took a mediocre NFL team and made them competitors. Why don't all the racists hate him as well?

Maybe it has less to do with race and more to do with the fact that Cam Newton is an all-time insufferable douchebag.

He does more for other people in one week than you will do in your entire life.

He is a bad loser. There is no denying that. However, I don't ever hear him bad mouthing his teammates. I don't hear him calling out his teammates. He always puts their failures on his shoulders.

False.

That being said, of course he's a "great philanthropist". He makes millions of dollars and his agent forces him to do it all because his public image needs all the help it can get. Because he is an all time insufferable douche.

Considering there are 352 starting defensive players in the NFL 85 saying it is him, doesn't really say much ....besides less than 25% believe that he is underrated.

Funny you say that, this was in the article...

quote:

One Houston Texans defensive back provided an amusing answer when asked which QB was the most overrated. Per Aaron Reiss of The Athletic, when he was reminded the survey was anonymous, the DB responded: "Man, I don't give a s--t. Blake Bortles."

Newton very rarely if ever does the feet first, NFL qb,sissy slide. Newton will lower his shoulder to take on defenders and dive head first for extra yardage and first downs. I do respect him for that.

Yes I know about the Super Bowl muffed fumble recovery not withstanding.

I think what he's saying is this is all told for him to do it by his Agent/PR team.

What did I say that wasn't true?

SEC fans do not like him because he broke it off in your asses with a smile on his face.

Hell, we are nine years later and he still rustles the frack out of all of you.

do you even take the time to read one sentence before you reply?

The survey was done by The Atlantic. That is a pay site, so if you'd like to buy a subscription and then share the login info with the board so we can all read the original article, then be my guest.

Of course I do. As should most people. Obviously not to the monetary extent but I can almost assure you I give more time than Cam does. Him giving $150,000 to a school isn't even a blip on his radar. It's generous, sure, but it isn't hard on him.

Is he doing anything that the average NFL quarterback isn't doing? It's basically part of the job description.
