I would say the SEC was a lot tougher in 2007 than it was in 2010.

And they didn't play all sec teams. Oh yeah, and they lost to AU that year, Lulz. 10 sec west > 07 sec east. You can't measure the sec as a whole when you don't play every team in the sec

So you say Newton is better because he won a NC his Heisman year and Tebow didn't. Well, would you think say for example Dilfer was a better QB than Marino because he has a Super Bowl ring and Marino doesn't?

That is the worst comparison I've seen on here. Cam and Tebow were almost similar. The ones you listed are completely different.

cam was great physically, but if I had 1 game to win and could only choose one I would choose Tebow.

Same. And when you spent one semester on campus, it is hard to say you are the greatest player in a lifetime. Tebow started 3 years and had to adjust to different OL, different receivers, playing with the hype of a Heisman target on his back for 2 years, etc. Cam did some amazing things, but plain and simple.......Tebow was better and did it the right way as an outstanding spokesman for his university, his faith, and the game of college football.

Yeah...if you think Cam is a better leader than Tebow then there really is no need to carry on the conversation.

Did Cam not lead his team from behind in almost every game last season?

Ok then would you say Brady's a better QB than Manning because he has more Super Bowl rings? See that argument has holes in it doesn't it?

I am not saying Newton wasn't a great player or didn't have a phenomenal season because that wouldn't be true, but I've seen better players and better QB's than Newton, Tebow being one example.

Florida was pretty stacked defensively...for one season, it was the best I ever witnessed...and I'm glad I got to see him live

The MSB had a thread about the best player from the last decade, this was the tally. I halved some votes because too many said either or:

Tebow 17(most single votes)
VY 7
Newton 3.5
Bush 2.5
Jason White/McFadden 1

Well stated. Cam's 2010 season is going to be a moot point soon anyway. BTW, if he was the greatest ever one would think Cecil could and should have got more than $180,000 for his services.

Not a personal attack, put Mike Vick or Vince Young as juniors in college on Auburns team last year and I doubt we come back in T-town or clemson or kentucky or in Glendale.

I think VY would have done better versus the Ducks for certain. VY played a better defense and won the game himself. Dyer was the offensive MVP.

I'm not judging their entire career on one game but the fact VY was unreal on the biggest stage and Cam had 2 TO's and mediocre stats does weigh into things.

I wouldn't say anyone has been better than Cam in a single season, however I don't think there is a way you can say that Cam is the greatest of all-time.

In my opinion, Barry Sanders was the greatest season that I've ever seen. He just couldn't be stopped. Cam had multiple games (Clemson, Miss State, Oregon) where he didn't destroy people. That being said, there are probably 15 guys if you include defensive players and OL that are up there. The most amazing game I've seen was VY versus USC. Without VY USC wins that game by a lot. Without Cam, I still think AU might have beaten Oregon. Fairley owned that game and Dyer played like an MVP. The OL as a whole was awesome.

Whatever helps you sleep at night When Tebow was at his best, he couldn't even win a NC. When he finally won one, his stats were down. Without Cam, we were a 8 win team. He had his great season and actually won a NC. But you can have Tebow, idc

No flame:

Tebow walked in to more talent around him than Newton did. AU has talent, but it is young. Florida was loaded when Tebow got there. They won a championship with him making a minor comtribution. AU does not win the championship without Cam. You can point to probably 4 loses without him.

Got to give the nod to Tebow for a career award, but Cam just had the greatest single season performance I have ever seen...and I do not expect to ever see it topped.

Probably has to also deal with Tebow playing 4 years, and Cam 1. Plus, a lot more people hate Cam for some reason...
