Auburn is risking EVERYTHING by ignoring these allegations and I hope they make the right choice
Auburn has known about these allegations since June. Apparently Cecil Newton also had to turn over church financial statements in June also. If Auburn was worried about Cam's eligiblty then he never would have taken a snap at Auburn. Shouldn't the NCAA have ruled on Cam before the season started? (In private of course. Not that we would have known how they ruled.)

I think they did and decided this wasn't true then new evidence came to their attention.

Lack of institutional control. They should have done a more thorough job investigating.

Whats bad about this, is the SEC first got news of this back in January, and didntpass the info to the NCAA until last month. The NCAA is just getting started.
im sure there will tons of theories as to why the SEC sat onthis for 8-9 months.

Yes, but the NCAA had this info in June also. I am sure that they would not have let Cam play if his eligibilty was in doubt. Look at the boat trip with Ingram and Jones. They did not find out they could play until the day before the first game, but the NCAA did at least make a ruling.

I think the bottom line will be this:
Does the Newton family have any ties to this Kenny Rogers?
If it can be shown there is no connection, then Kenny Rogers acted alone and should be punished. Nothing will happen to Cam.
If the Newtons were involved with Rogers, then the NCAA digs further.

How much did Auburn pay Jordan Jefferson to go to LSU?

Its already been established that the Newtons have had contact with Rogers going back to his Florida days... so multiple times spanning several year.
I dont recall where i read that though.

Like with Reggie Bush?
Did the NCAA stop the UNC players from playing us? No, the team did.

Here is my question about the whole thing (and excuse me if this has been posted before I didn't feel like reading 40+ pages).
Based on what I have been reading, MSU and other schools were recruiting Newton. Rogers calls Bond and tells him other schools have offered up $200k but MSU could get Newton for $180k. Bond tells this to the MSU AD and while they do not pay, they continue to recruit Newton as they would any other player. Do I have that part of the story correct?
If that is correct, and any connection to Rogers wuld make Newton inelligible to play, why did MSU continue to recruit him? In turning the information over to the SEC did they talk to the Newtons to see what was going on? Did they receive some type of information to make them think that this would not hurt his elligibility?
Just seems strange to me that if Mullen/MSU AD felt that Newton was damaged goods they would continue to recruit him.

Do any of you ever remember the media flipping out ilke this, with as little info as they have? I mean seriously, the journalists and analysts are as bad as the message boards.
