Well that is generally considered pay-for-play and the NCAA frowns on such things.....typically, they try to keep college football a non-professional endeavor....but i realize I am talking to the Orange & Blue crowd here and beating Bammer is what counts

I think it is b/c of how that season was going. You guys almost lost like 6 games and in at least 4 of those you can attribute Cam Newton as the reason you didn't. There was a belief (right or wrong) that you were a one person team and that one person came there under shady circumstances. So it is a mixture of "haters" from the rest of us and the defiant attitude of AU fans that their team couldn't possibly have done something like what they were accused of b/c the staff was above that.

Allegedly. If true, it was an incredible investment. If not true, it was worth the headache to hear the accusations just for the end results. The only thing that bothered me were the AU fans who accepted it as truth but acted as if it was OK b/c "the $200K didn't make Cam throw better or run faster". While that would be true, it did make him go to AU (allegedly).

He asked about players coming back and finishing their degrees, not a metric that determines which schools have players who leave "in good academic standing".

When 36% of Auburn football players do not graduate within 6 years, they have a much larger pool of candidates for "coming back and finishing their degrees" than LSU, Alabama, Vandy, and Florida, where 75% or more of the players graduate within 6 years.
