it was an orgy of arkansas threads on this board over Brett frickin' Bieeaileeemai. and you're giving LSU fans shite over grabbing one of the top OCs in the NFL
Bret may suck and so may Cam, they may also be good. It's that weird problem of trying to get future data, you can't. I didn't take part in the orgy and I'm not giving y'all shite. Had an opinion that didn't jive with LSU fan's pitched tents, that's all that happened.

I think people just let the name value or the NFL value go to their heads...he was a below average OC in the NFL and that's why he got fired
This is a flat out lie, the numbers say completely otherwise on him and he didn't get fired for being a "below average OC", he got fired because Flacco hated him and he hd a disagreement with Harbaugh. It had nothing to do with his offense. They kept using the same offense after he was fired, what, you think they installed a whole new offense?

I know and that's why I think he'll be better in the NCAA than he was in the NFL but that still brings him up to average...especially because the SEC is NFL minor leagues

BB is a defensive coach whose last couple of defenses sucked arse.

Whole lotta hate in this thread. CC would be a better HC than Gus and Bielema

The excitement reminds me of the excitement we Auburn fans had when Chizik hired a NFL coordinator who was basically fired, Brian VanGorder. I hope for LSU fans sake that this works out better than it did for us.

This is actually a great hire for LSU. People hate what they don't understand.

Those numbers show that both teams underachieved immensely on offense considering the amount of offensive talent on those teams. Those Chargers teams had the best RB in the NFL, the best TE in the NFL and Drew Brees at QB yet they never finished higher than 10th in total offense. The Ravens also had plenty of talent with Flacco, Rice, Boldin, Mason, Heap, Torrey Smith and McGahee yet they never finished higher than 13th in total offense. Cameron has always been a mediocre OC wherever he's been.
LOL you guys are absolutely ridiculous. OMG he wasn't top 5 every year in the NFL, mediocre!
If he was always so mediocre then why was he OC in the NFL for a decade? Explain that one.

LSU's OC is more decorated than AU and Arkansas' HEAD COACH

86th ranked offense, EIGHTY SIXTH. Look at my link, that shows only what the offense itself did. Did you watch us at all that year? Our defense and special teams scored us a TON of points. Our offense was a 3 and out machine. We hardly EVER sustained drive and got a TD out of them. If we had the ball on our own side of the field it was almost a guaranteed punt or in some lucky cases a FG that year.
I feel like you're picking out only a couple games that you struggled in and it sticks in your head. I remember the Arkansas, Tennessee, West Virgina, Ole Miss, and Auburn games you didn't have a whole lot of trouble putting it in the endzone. Georgia I understand, until you had a spark plug before half y'all looked dead in water.
I understand your defense and special teams set you up a lot, which is part of the reason your total offense numbers were so low. Exact opposite for Arkansas, our defense never really set us up which is why our total offense was so high. Stats never tell the story, neither yard nor points. But to say your offense was bad in 2011... well I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.

Lots of LSU fans gonna be mad when they see minimal change to the offense. It's a good hire from a publicity standpoint though.
Two words. QB.DEVELOPMENT!
I couldn't care less if we called all the same plays. QB has been our only weakness for some time. It's okay. That feeling of being scared is normal.

No.

No. He got fired for openly arguing with a franchise QB. Not many HEAD coaches could do that in league and get to keep their job.

Most objective CFB expert analysts, such as myself, should give this hire praise for the shear fact the guy has been an OC in the NFL for as long as he has.
You just can't get an intellectual conversation going on this board for some reason.

So you recall that we were losing until Mathieu saves our asses?

Auburn
You probably remember how we caused multiple turnovers on special teams?

Ole Miss
Defense scored on Ole Miss' first possession.

West Virgina
Mathieu's INT, Claiborne's return. Enough said.
You have a poor memory.

Yep. People say its bc they didn't use rice enough. Guess what? Rice averages 1 (one) carry more per game after he left. They went with the same offense. The offense that won the super bowl.
