As George once told Jerry who was trying to pass a lie detector test, "It's not a lie if you believe it."

Maybe Cam is just delusional and possibly psychotic. I'll bet a lot of serial killers could pass a lie detector asking them if they killed their victims.

I'm not trying to disparage him. It's just a theory.

I don't believe the letter the op linked is legit, but there is no doubt that if Cam took a lie detector test on national tv and passed, it would change very few minds.

Cameron has the arm strength of John Elway. A faster release than Dan Marino and is as accurate as Tom Brady.

This may not be relevant any more

But polygraphs aren't used by domestic security agencies any longer, and they're not admissible in court. They're too easy to fool - you can just have a lot of iron in your bloodstream to fool it, for instance, in addition to relaxation techniques (it's really just an arousal sensor...)

In other words, I hope no one is convinced or persuaded of anything by polygraph results...

So if Cam were to pass a lie detector test, it would be because he took a shitload of iron and had someone show him how to beat a polygraph? Is this what you are saying?

I know exactly what I am doing, it is 100% true that this was posted on TWO Alabama Forums. That to me is revealing.

Folks are so quick to believe everything BAD about Cam that is any Blog or Forum. Interesting to see the attacks and spin they put on this. I did not receive the letter directly, it could easily be fake, just like MOST of what is posted on on-line forums, etc....

That's not correct.

(1) The CIA still relies very heavily on it's policy of regular polygraph examinations for employees. (They do use an independent 3rd party source).

(2) The FBI administers polygraphs to new employees - at least they did when they recruited me in law school. According to their website, passage of a polygraph is still a mandatory requirement:

quote:

As soon as the FBI receives a fully complete set of background investigation forms (your Human Resources point-of-contact will provide you with an address), the FBI will commence with your background investigation. You will be contacted by the FBI office that is processing your background to schedule your interview, drug test, and polygraph examination. The polygraph will check the truthfulness of all of your responses on the FBI Background Investigation Forms. In the next phase of the process, the FBI will perform extensive records checks (e.g., credit checks, police records checks, etc.), and FBI investigators will interview current and former colleagues, neighbors, friends, professors, etc.

(3) Polygraphs are more reliable than people think. Don't buy into some of the rhetoric out there, particularly the admonition that they are "inadmissible in court"

(4) This email is highly dubious, but I do seem to recall hearing about some NFL prospects taking polygraphs - Brian Cushing (steroids) comes to mind and someone else who was dogged by rumors of drug addiction.

(5) As others have alluded to, it would not matter if Cam took and passed a polygraph. College football fans are largely idiots who will believe whatever they want to believe.
