Everyone does this, it’s part of the sport. Oh let’s play a violent game, but then if someone gets a bit too violent, let’s get on our high horse and claim we only one to be a certain level of violent.

Calling it now: The officials will go overboard to protect Tagovailoa, calling bogus "late-hit" penalties, targeting, etc. And Gump fans will feel entitled to this special treatment.

I doubt it. But with the targeting rule, players are being taught to go waist down with hits. I really hope no one gets hurt in the game and we get the Bama A game against the Tiger A game; that would be fun to see.
