Starks is great. Downs has the same amount of INTs, a punt return TD, a fumble recovery TD, and 60 more tackles.

He's a Georgia Boy, what do you expect? Best high school football in the country produces the best.

Downs is a freshman who was targeted a lot early in the season.
I don't watch Bama. Is he still being targeted? Or is there another DB or 2 who were targeted by LSUs OC?

You watch Bama.
I trust your input.
You could actually add something.
Who was targeted against LSU and Tennessee?
Who was targeted against Texas and Ole Miss?

That’s not a good thing for his position

I don't watch Bama.
It isn't a good thing racking up 3 to 5 tackles after receptions.
It isn't a good thing filling in to support the run if a light box could do the job.
I get it. Sometimes the defensive scheme pushes the run to the perimeter and your safeties are filling those lanes. And those are extremely productive tackles.
Sometimes, there are run blitzes and pass blitzes which hit and create headaches for OCs.
But "tackles" alone without context doesn't say much.
Do you think the leading tackler in the SEC is the best defensive player every year?

I have watched some Bama football this year. Caleb has been a good player but he’s also been picked on. Lots of tackles doesn’t mean great play. Starks has 1/3 of the tackles and he’s the best safety in the SEC

He really was the best true freshman in CFB.
