Simms may be uglier than my dog's arse, but he's going to kick your Auburn arse for at least 2 years.

two years ago, you were saying that about Star Jackson, minus the ugly part since you think Star is hot.

SEC player of the year

maybe his last yr before that he did not live up to the hype and most seemed to think that was only because he made such a drastic improvement from 1 yr to the next is this not so?

Both guys have missed large portions of 2 years.

I think Ronnie Brown is a good NFL back when healthy but he can't stay on the field. He has one 1000 yard season in 5 years in the NFL. Ricky Williams has more rushing yards this season than Brown has ever had in his career. When Brown did rush for 1008 yards, he ranked 23rd in the NFL. He was behind Vick, Ladell Betts, Tatum Bell, Julius Jones, and almost 20 other guys in his best season as a pro.

Caddy has been terrible. He had a good rookie season and been awful since then. I understand he was injured but his second year (before injury) was terrible. He averaged 3.5 yards per carry. He played a combined 10 games over the next 2 seasons. He's averaged 3.8 yards per carry as a pro and only had one year over 4 yards per carry. He's also had much lower yards per carry than Ernest Graham, Warrick Dunn, and Michael Pittman running behind the same line.

Since the argument was only about as college players the above information is not relevent.

Ingram and Richardson have comparable stats at this point for where they're at in their college career. When a guy wins the Heisman as a Soph, it's a bit hard to say he isn't in someone's league. Richardson had a great season as a Freshman and he had to earn carries behind the Heisman winner. I don't really care about the running back pissing contest but there are plenty of RB combos that were better than CW/RB and MI/TR. Thurman Thomas and Barry Sanders are so far beyond both combos that it isn't worth comparing. Charles White and Marcus Allen both won the Heisman and played in the same backfield at USC. Reggie Bush and Lendale White were statistically far superior to the both combos. There have been some incredible duos over the years.

CW/RB combined for 2078 on the ground at 5.3 per carry before they were drafted. If you add in their receiving yards it is 2543 for 5.69 yards/touch. Reggie Bush alone had 2218 yards at 9.36 yards/touch. He touched the ball 210 times less than the Auburn combo and had almost as many yards. Add in Lendale White's 1500 yards and it shows the difference between a truly elite college duo and CW/RB. I realize where RB/CW went in the draft however it's obvious based on their production that they were overvalued. MI/TR aren't finished so it's silly to compare right now however it isn't like they're being compared to the best duo of all time. People are acting like this duo is the best ever and it's nowhere in the running.

+1 People act like the 2004 Auburn team is the best SEC team of all-time. There are atleast five teams this decade that would beat them including Auburn 03, but Hugh Nall was the offensive coordinator.

Ingram - 1
Williams and Brown - 0

Auburn 2003 would have gotten shite stomped by Auburn 2004, and it would have gotten very ugly very fast.

WTF...?

I'd say 2004 Auburn is the best SEC team this decade....by a pretty decent margin.

The fact that he thinks 2003 Auburn could score anything more than ten points on that 2004 Auburn defense is funny. Then you have to take into account the 2004 Auburn offense scoring quite a bit with the 03 defense being on the field for so long.

Would have been a blowout.

Auburn 2004 was an awesome team. Probably the SEC's best team of the decade. (My opinion)

I don't know if they're the best SEC team of the decade but they were damn good.

If AU 20004 wasn't the best team in the decade--who would it be?

Yeah, I think so, but it wasn't an easy decision. I lurked for a LONG time. I would have jumped in sooner but even I get sick of seeing the Script A's in front of 4/5 of the threads.

In the end, I just felt like my bamatardness was too awesome to hide from the world. Or from you douchebags here, at least.

You're all comaring two seniors to a true freshman and true sophomore, and the numbers of the younger two are still better. Let's think about what these guys would be like if they stick together for another two seasons.

LSU and Florida both have 2 championships this decade. I would put both Florida teams and the 2003 LSU team up there. I wouldn't put the 2 loss LSU team on probably but the other 3 are equally good.
