But what about the better team between FSU and Bama vs the most “deserving”. I would say the most “deserving” vs the best team should be left out.

Also in a close race, usually the Heisman would go to a player on an undefeated team(most deserving) vs one with 3 losses for their team(best).Look it up…and that was an argument used as well too. You LSU fans can’t have it both ways…

What it boils down to is does the most deserving player/team get the accolades or the best player/team get the accolades? You can choose either but right now you LSU fans are trying to have it both ways…

I actually didn't realize he also had 885 yards rushing last season.

P5 Conf
Undefeated
Top 4/5

FSU did ALL they could do, flip the script and SOS and Bama wouldn’t want to be “left out” because a QB got injured.

It’s ludicrous

Or Travis, if his being hurt shouldn’t matter

No they didn't, they played the weakest schedule of anyone in contention, and looked absolutely abysmal this weekend when everyone was watching.

By your logic Liberty should be in the CFP — they did ALL they could do.

Daniels has 1,100 rushing yards, Penix has like -23.

The only real legit point in Penix’s favor is his team is undefeated. Even ignoring it’s an individual award, the argument somehow ignores that Penix was absolutely awful in their 15-7 win over hapless Arizona State. They won that game solely because of their defense. Penix was also pedestrian at best against Wash St and Oregon St. , both of which the Washington defense played very well and was why Washington won. It’s old news how awful LSU’s defense was in every game and how well Daniels played in the three losses, particularly against Ole Miss and Alabama. Maybe it is close, but if it is it’s ridiculous.

Best players elevate their teams to playoff tier. Unlike FSU, Washington is in the playoff.

Right now FSU would lose to Iowa.

It isn't a close race.

Daniels has like 800 more yards and 14 more touchdowns despite playing one less game.

Hopefully, you’re not legitimately this stupid. Better to be a troll than an idiot. Of course, the smart money says you’re both.

Who was the last Heisman winner from a 3+ loss team?

No, I feel like I’ve stated my comparison numerous times here and in your zeal to have some sort of pot shot at Bama for making the playoffs, you just refuse to see the duplicity here. You’re trying to say in one breath that FSU should be in based off being undefeated, as if nothing else should matter…not who they played to get to that record, nothing(Where’s the gripe for Liberty if that’s all that matters?) But then you want to turn right around and say an award that generally almost always goes to the best player on one of the best teams if not the best team, by using the argument that record should NOT matter in that case.

I actually haven't said any of those things.

I'm just saying the Alabama comparisons make your fanbase sound dumb.

Both Alabama and FSU had legitimate arguments to be in and they both have legitimate reasons to be pissed if they didn't get in.

Agreed and you highlight my point…one needs to look at the numbers and other data than simply saying Penix is “deserving” of the Heisman because of his team going undefeated. Because at this point that is 100% the argument we are hearing from the Bama haters as to why FSU should be in the CFP and not Bama.

One can’t legitimately argue that FSU being undefeated is all that should matter with a close call in the CFP then turn around and claim JD should win the Heisman in a close call with Penix given Washington is undefeated…

I get what you are saying and agree with it to an extent; but you're comparing an individual award with an award (who gets into the playoffs) that goes to a TEAM. Its not really the same thing. Wins and losses attributed to one player when he plays on just one side of the ball isn't the same as talking about wins and losses attributed to a team.

There are several recent examples of players on 9-3 teams winning the Heisman. There are NO examples of an undefeated P5 conference champion missing the playoff.

They’re not the same at all. The duplicity here doesn’t exist.
