all she did is run in front of him. She clearly jukes by him in the video. He hits her as she is moving by. She made no contact.

Really depends on if it gets picked up further by the media. Let’s say it shows up on GMA or the women of the View pick it up. Could be a shitstorm still out there that neither Saban or Burton can control.

I couldn’t care less about the opinion of someone who’s obviously responded without taking the time to read my OP. Have a nice day.

Look again at the screenshot you just posted. His body is turned sideways. That is after she ran into him. Once again I won’t believe him when he said she intentionally ran into him or that she said something derogatory or threatening but what I believe doesn’t matter. What matters I what can be proven or what cannot be proven.

Yeah to turn and hit her.

I know you are just defending the state pass time of beating your wife but the rest of the nation doesn't accept hitting women.

Extremely high. That’s not a good argument against dude. Anyone could be carrying a weapon. Plus, we are in the Southeast. Way more people carry than you realize.

That’s a fair point. I doubt it gets attention from those place though. They would only care if he was white.

In a court of law, much less general society hitting a woman is never justified. Maybe if she pulled a gun on you. Personal space be damned. If you are unaware of this, I'm not sure what to tell you. If she sues, he's going to lose ...

Please point to the specific NCAA bylaw indicating it’s the player’s responsibility to enforce security on the field since many of you have likened this to security tackling a streaker or such on the field.

Are you suggesting that when enough people break the rule/law, the rule/law no longer exists?

If 500 people decide to rush the field in the middle of the 3rd quarter, does the amount make it ok? Or does it need to be 1000? At what point does the number of people break the rule/law invalidate it?

I've never rooted for anyone to get injured but I'll cheer if Burton tears his ACL.

It is an SEC rule that fans do not come on the field. When you break that rule you forfeit your right to safety.
Once again, he shouldn’t have done it but nothing will come of it.

So you are going with the " he was wrong, but it is okay" defense.

Was he in any danger?

You think he was afraid of her or threatened by her, so it is okay to hit her? He did not even react to her after he hit her.

quote:

We have no idea what was said when she passed him or if the other fan with the video camera in his face was right before that.

What the hell does that matter.

He assaulted her for no good reason. He was pissed off about losing and took it out on her. He is supposedly an adult and should know how to control his emotions, If he doesn't, he has no business being on that field.

IDGAF what she said to him. You don't put your hands on other people who haven't touched you first.

Now this is bull shite. If someone ran up to you and said something like, “I’m going to kill you.” You have every right to hit them and you should probably do so. Not doing so is stupid and could cost you your life.

Good lord, I've read some stupid shite on this board, but this might be the pinnacle.

A court of law doesn't care about gender. I've never seen a law was based on male vs female. What the hell are you talking about? It's either battery or it's not.

She won't sue, she doesn't have a case.

I agree. A man should never hit a woman. However, legally speaking had she not broken 1-3 laws(trespassing, public intoxication, and possibly underage drinking) the actions would’ve never happened. She has no leg to stand on vs Burton. Now if she can prove Tennessee was encouraging fans to rush the field she may have a case against UT.

Too bad he doesn't have a history of sexual battery on minors and wasn't charged with an actual crime, then we could just #teamvote on it.
