if he has been there 12 years and had produced some of the best teams in Rutgers history, and his overall average is worse than Rutger's overall, it means hes not the great coach you are claiming. He had a good few years and outside of that hes been absolute shite.

I'll call a spade a spade there...... Schiano has been the most successful coach, probably the only coach, in Rutgers history. They were the absolute doormat of CFB, for many years, even worse than this years UCONN. He is a good coach and a good DC.... The trouble at OSU was Alex Grinch primarily, who stunk.

Schiano, if you check the facts, was a good DC before they hired Grinch as co DC. He has completely turned around Rutgers since he went there... His recruiting has been pretty darn good and that program has at least turned out to be bowl worthy.... What more can you ask of that man at this point?????

If he was such a great DC, why weren't they in the elite like they are now during his tenure? They obviously valued Day more as he was chosen to be the interim when Meyer was suspended, despite not having a bit of experience as a head coach. You don't hire a co-DC if your DC is doing a good job. That vaunted defense of his gave up 55 points to Iowa with a shot at the playoffs on the line. He was a failure and the fact that OSU didn't give him the interim job after crowing all off-season before 2018 about how he was a great man and a promising head coach just goes to show what they really thought of him. And that he wasn't mentioned in any more head coaching searches until Rutgers opened up is a further red flag.

And bowl worthy? If they don't beat Bert this weekend they're looking at 4-8 or 3-9.
