Why is everyone saying this will be such a bad thing? In the NFL things are pretty even now and can change very quickly. The Titans and Niners were in the dumps not long ago.

Burrow is from Ohio, he can return to his home state and be the centerpiece of a franchise who will build around him. And think about this.. if he wins the Bengals their first super bowl he will be a complete legend in both Louisiana and Ohio forever, a sports icon.

Burrow has a winner’s mentality and I’ll bet he sees it as a huge opportunity rather than how most people are talking about it.

Because the Bengals are an incompetently run organization only rivaled by the Washington Redskins and Cleveland Browns.

It all depends on the organization. Building a team isn’t as easy as you make it out to be. Sometimes it’s successful like for the 49ers, other times it’s a failure, like for the Redskins, Jaguars, etc.

It also seems to typically work better when you build inside out (start with the lines first) then drafting a promising QB and a couple weapons first. Using SF as an example again, they drafted a Lineman in the first and second round like 3 straight years before going after Jimmy G.

It's not going to be a bad thing. The Bengals are going to build a franchise around joe. He is like tom Brady when it comes to that. Just ask him what he wants and needs and give it to him. The dude is going to be successful wherever he goes, including Cincinnati. Mark my words.njoe burrow is going to revive that franchise and the Bengals are going to be a force to be reckoned with in the near future. He's just a once in a lifetime type of talent at qb. I have never seen a qb that is so dominant as he is at the college level. He has been running an nfl attack at LSU and has been spectacularly successful. Nothing is going to change in the nfl, he will kill it there too. He probably has more and better wide outs at LSU than he will have at the Bengals and that's not an exaggeration. They're going it to have to sign some recievers and give him some weapons, but once they get them in place around burrow...lights out, he's going to be excellent. Can't wait to see him shred the nfl like he has been doing at LSU, bc it's going to happen. Geaux Jeaux! Geaux Tigers! Geaux bengals, except for when they play the saints, though I still hope Joe has a good game vs the saints but just doesn't best us lol. Finally, geaux tigers!

Joe is going from one tiger program to another lol, how awesome is that? His football career this far couldn't be scripted any better by Hollywood. Just unreal. He's going to be a hall of famer one day for sure barring injury. The guy is just blessed by God with talent as a qb. He was created to be a qb. What a fricking baller. Build the man a statue now! Retire his jersey now!

Which promptly ended immediately ALL 5 Times & served only to prolonged their employment of Marvin Lewis & his affinity for players who were criminal delinquents!

BUT

I will say that the Bengals do actually have a handful of decent skill position players - Mixon at RB, Boyd, Ross, Green (Maybe) at WR & Eifert at TE. So Cincinnati isn't the absolute WORST place JB9 could end up but there's certainly better organizations in the NFL that need a Franchise QB.

Because a screen door is better protection than their offensive line.

Bungels are the worst run franchise in the league. They make the Raiders look competent

Because the Bengals are a notoriously cheap organization. Burrow will need a cast around him

Lol, the Bengals were one of the most consistently solid franshises in the league for 15 years under Marvin Lewis. They moved on because Lewis had them topped out at good, and couldn't get over the hump to compete for Super Bowls.

They're only a year removed from that level, and have a solid talent core to build around. There are WAY worse situations for a QB like Burrow to land in.

They have one of the worst, if not THE worst, offensive lines in the NFL. AJ Green's career is almost over. Tyler Boyd is an OK receiver but hardly setting the world on fire. Joe Mixon is a good running back and thats about it

Mike Brown won't live forever. How much control he exuded over personnel decisions changed the last few seasons under Marvin. We had a great run with Palmer and Ochocinco, then we had the Andy and AJ era, now the 2 Joes era is upon us.

If they do him like they did Palmer, he will be fine. Let him sit for a year and learn how it all works.
