Joe Cool puts himself squarely in the MVP race with fellow Class of ‘19 Oklahoma alum Jalen Hurts and favorite Pat Mahomes by leading the Bengals to a third straight win against Mahomes’ Chiefs.
Class of ‘19 Bama alum Tua has a rough week but still likely top 5.
Four terrific quarterbacks dueling it out.

Jalen is playing with his hair on fire.

He should be the betting favorite after this week, he has been awesome and the Eagles are loaded. Getting him a #1 receiver in AJ Brown was a great move.

Jalen Hurts isn't an alum of Oklahoma.
You sure about that? Pretty sure he started a playoff game for Oklahoma in 2019 against LSU.

My apologies.
Jalen has a degree from Alabama. He doesn't have one from Oklahoma.
ETA: But he claims Alabama, not Oklahoma, as his Alma mater.

Jalen Hurts is an alumni of Oklahoma. He attended school there. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama.

This is correct.
An alumnus is not synonymous with a graduate across the board.
HOWEVER, Jalen is a dawg though, whoever wants to skew where he came from. He’s gonna be in the NFL for a while. Dude’s Philly’s 2nd coming of McNabb.

You do realize, if you are a graduate of a school you are an alumni? I mean, you have to be to graduate. That is the way it works. I mean, what the frick? Did some of ya’ll not even attend school? Any school. If you say someone is a graduate of a school, you don’t have to say he is an alumni. It is assumed because he or her is.
If you tell someone you bought a used 2012 Ford F-150, do you then have to tell them “I bought a truck”?
Never mind. You won’t and but you would.

There are a few Bama alums on this board, I’m guessing GWM is not one of them.

I don't watch the NFL, but this is how I know if Jalen had a good week or not.
I'm glad he's an Oklahoma alum and having success.

Oh, I translated that. Tuscaloosa County High 95; Mississippi State bachelor degree 99; Alabama graduate degree 02. Also a 100 ton captains license along the way. But I have way underachieved and I know it. But I have had a good time.

First of all, he did not graduate from Oklahoma, which means he attended the school for about a year to play football. Second, it’s ALUMNUS if talking about a male individual graduate of a university. ALUMNI is the plural of alumnus. English 101. Class dismissed.

I never said he was a graduate from Oklahoma. Just an alumni since he DID attend school there. And thanks for the grammar lesson on the whole Alumnus/Alumni thing. I have been telling people I am an Alumni at Alabama for 20 years. Probably because of the monthly letters I get from Alabama and MSU asking for donations. They ALWAYS say alumni. Sorry; I wasn’t an English major. Or minor. Hell; I am just happy I can be understood without using my hands.
But for clarification; if you graduate from a school you are a graduate. And if you graduate from that school you are an alumnus (see that KingoftheWorld, i learn quick). But they send out letters and donation envelopes every month to the “Alumni”. And if you are an alumnus you will get one. Or two. If you are an alumnus of two schools.
Is that right KingoftheWorld? It gets confusing.
