Certainly helped but you can say this about most QBs

the League they played in.

Eh, it helped to boost his numbers a little but he would have been good against most competition in any league. We partly saw evidence of this last year.

Height is a major factor in a QBs success

It is a factor but this narrative is starting to go away with more time. Most thought Russel Wilson was too small to be very good in the NFL as well. Obviously if you can get a tall QB that is mobile as well, that would be the goal.

I was giving the benefit of the Bama SID. You are correct, his 6 foot stature probably contributed more to his injury issues than just happy feet.

Russell Wilson is a short Passing QB. He is very good in the pocket. Young is better when out of the pocket and throws when the run breaks down. That works in HS and at some College Programs, but the SEC has some decent Ds.

That was not always the way he was looked at

NFL.com said “it remains to be seen if he can throw effectively from the pocket at the next level.”

You are getting confused with how he is viewed now and before he started in the NFL.

Young is better when out of the pocket and throws when the run breaks down

Well yeah, he is coming out of HS.

He has to continue to learn and grow as a QB like anyone does out of HS.

Wilson chose UW so he could prove he was a good throwing QB. Remember, he almost went to AU, but he knew he would be used like Cam. He didn’t think it would help his NFL career. He was always a good pocket passer.

This was not something that scouts agreed on, I provided one of many examples above.

Look at his NCS career. His issue for the NFL was always his height. O’Brian told his to stay with baseball because of his height.

Scouts biggest concern was his height for sure but plenty had their worries about his ability in the pocket.

That kind of just goes back to my original point that height is seen as more overrated than once before and for good reason. Still important but not as crucial as once believed.

You started to see alot of that during Murry's draft process. Certain scouts used Wilson as a reason to not worry about Murray's size.

He's expected to be better than Tua right?

He's 6'0 at best. I'm barely 6'1 and I was just about eye to eye with him at a coach's clinic last year.

Sark was 6 ft, 0.5 in at the 1997 NFL Combine (72.4 inches to be exact)

Bryce is about 5'10 - 5'10.5

I'm so sick of people crowning the next generational talent. There are multiple kids in the past 3 or 4 classes that have been deemed generational talents at some point in time.

And then there are the actual GOATs like Joe Burrow.

Generational Talent is the most overused term in sports.....and at the basest level doesn't make sense. A generational talent comes around.....wait for it....once a generation. So dumb.

Bryce is a talented kid. We'll see how he adapts. He's not a generational talent.

Look at the Ryan photo. He is at lest five inches shorter than Ryan, who is listed at 6’4”. Young is at best 5’9 1/2”.
