Has way less talented receivers than Tua or Mac did and still puts up 300 yards a game. Mac is still the best bama quarterback of all time but Bryce is definitely living up to the hype.

And you have his picture taped on the ceiling above your bed to prove it

He's a great talent and I believe that a majority of opposing fans like him as well due to his demeanor on the field. He's very low key and humble and just goes about his business as best he can.

He’s grown as a player over the season. Becoming a shrewd runner instead of near unwilling.

He ran in high school a good bit if you watch his tape.

But mostly he runs to pass. Can't say enough about his uncanny feel for the pocket and where pressure is coming from.

Awkward Georgia retort, as per norm.

I like that he's running more. Makes the offense harder to defend

It's a good bet that the coaches didn't want him running the ball unless necessary since the qb depth is not good, to be kind.

Since the offensive line sucks, though, the coaches probably eventually advised him that if the receivers are covered and if it's there, take off and slide down if possible before taking a direct hit. I mean, he's getting hit on the regular in the backfield anyway, so why not.

Copying my comment from another b.young thread"

"in his soph year he's 188/268, 70% completion. Yardage at 2453 -- 26 to 3 TD to picks - and rating of 176.8.

compared to Tua's soph year who played in 15 games. Tua finished 69% completion, 3966 yards -- 33 to 3 td to picks - rating of 199.

joey b's freak season. 76.3% completion, 5671 yards, 60-6 td to picks and a rating of 202.

baker. 70.5% completion. 4627 yards. 43-6 td to picks. 198.9 rating.

kyler 69.0%. 4361 yards. 42-7 tds to picks and rating of 199.

lamar jackson 59.1%, 3660 yards, 27-10 td to picks and a rating of 146."

Stetson Bennett doesnt have multiple defenders in his backfield within a second of snapping the ball on a large percentage of plays. Unlike Bryce, he actually has an OL that is worth a damn.

Mac had the single best year of any qb at UA, or as far as that, of any qb anywhere for pass efficiency, according to ncaa stats, but if he was the best qb ever long term, why was he on the bench till his last season?

My guess is that he wasn't the best qb on the team those years, but that he worked very hard and developed into a very good qb by that last year.
