I’m sure he lit it up vs other BlueBloods like Mercer, USM and New Mexico State…
Imagine if your QB completed less than 50% of his 40+ pass attempts and only threw 1 TD against a 1-11 UCONN team.
Well, you don't have to imagine that, but the point still stands. There's never a guarantee of a good performance even against the literal worst team in all of FBS.

You would think that a Clemson fan of all people would understand that offenses, even at the highest level, are not the exact same every season. Especially when the OL can't block and you can't run the ball.
I understand offenses. …however Clemson’s O-line this year was comprised largely of three-star recruits. Bama’s O-line was much better…as were the receivers (Clemson was without top four most of the season).
Also Bama Offensive is much more evolved than Clemson’s…who excelled due to back to back generational QB’s. Bottom line: Bama has a NC offense every year…Bryce Young or not.

The hell does that have to do with whether they were good or not? Our offensive line is bad. The reasoning is irrelevant to this conversation. Our OL has underachieved - badly. The coaching has sucked. That doesn't really have anything to do with the fact that they let Bryce get hit constantly.

Again, you clearly have not watched Alabama this year. All of your comments are based on watching Alabama from past years.
Our offense this year is absolutely not evolved. It is basically a 2008 NFL offense where you go 4 wide, shotgun snap and let the QB sit in the pocket with no motion or movement.

In all likelihood we don't have one of those this year, and we would have a 2004 level Mike Shula offense is Bryce Young went down.

The O-line was not good…clearly you didn’t watch the UGA game…they weren’t good because they aren’t talented enough…the cause is bad recruiting of O-line…bad O line and aQB incapable of read progression was the doom of Clemson this season.
Class dismissed

He set a single game passing record at the most prestigious program in the country. Just engineered an improbable come from behind win against Bama's biggest rival on the road.
It's not like he doesn't deserve it. Not his fault the competition isn't that great for it this year.
Why are you down on the SEC this year? Everyone can't go 12-0 11-1 10-2.. teams beat up on teams in the league its TRIED!
aTm 8-4
Miami 7-5
Tenn 7-5
LSU 6-6
FLA 6-6
AU 6-6
MSU 7-5
MISS 10-2
ARK 8-4
MIZZ 6-6
KY 9-3
S.CAR 6-6
BAMA 11-1
GA 12-0
Over 90% of all losses were inter-conference only Vandy keeps that # from being even higher!
No other conference can make such a boast!
If your team let your expectations of them down, then that's your problem not the leagues!

That is not to say Young will not develop and get better, but Heisman, nah, I do not think so.
I can accept that since it is your opinion. I've had the luxury of watching all of Alabama's games. Tua wouldn't be able to survive one game without some kind of serious injury playing behind this present OLine.
They are ranked 112th in sacks given up. Let that sink in for a moment.

He was pressured on 39 of 78 drop backs in those 2 games (50%) and sacked 11 times.
QBs today grow up on 7 on 7. If you do not pressure them they will eat you apart. DC still haven't figured that out yet in some programs.

That is not good, but again, I just do not think he is the best player in college football. Again, I am not saying his is bad, he is really good at his age and he will get better.

Gotta be the first time a Heisman was awarded for charity based on lack of candidates.
Should light it up against UGA !!
Well, if SMITTY hadn't won it last year, they would've given it to Jennifer Lawrence instead of Mac, who deserved it as much as Smitty did! But, Jennifer should not have even been in the equation!

Bama could play a corpse at QB and still win the West…Corral is the only reason Ole Miss has won 10 games this year…he is a far more versatile QB and team leader…Young is one of the weakest Bama QBs I’ve seen in years…just saying.

We would have lost to Florida, LSU, Arky, and Auburn with DJ Vowels under center. Possibly one or two other games. Clemson winning 9 games with him is a testament to both Venables sign thievery skills and the abomination of a conference that is the ACC.
Yup

Bias, maybe. But, I think Tua was better than Young at the same point in their career.
Sophomore year
Tua - 15 games; 3966 yards; 43 TDs; 6 int
Bryce - 12 games; 3901 yards; 40 TDs; 4 int
Not a whole lot of difference. Bryce has played 3 less games and just 65 yds & 3 TDs behind Tua.
But Tua had DeVonta Smith (future Heisman +other awards), Jerry Jeudy (Fred Biletnikoff Award) Waddle and Ruggs (all 1st round NFL picks) to throw to; plus RBs Damien Harris, Josh Jacobs, & Najee Harris (Doak Walker award)(2 more 1st round NFL picks) to take the pressure off. And his OL was a whole lot better.

The best player in college football does not get rattled.
Sacked 7 times and running for his life many other times. No WR1 and playing with RB4. He had some misses due to a variety of reasons, but there were also plenty of drops.
But, he never looked "rattled." He looked altogether emotionless and under control from the first drive to the last one. A "rattled" QB doesn't make a 97 yd drive with 1:27 and no timeouts playing against one of their biggest rivals in one of the toughest away venues in CFB.
