This is Stephen Belichick level cringe nepotism. Steven Pearl has done nothing but follow Daddy around his whole life. Never played college basketball for anyone but Daddy as a zero star recruit no one else wanted. Then while Daddy was banned from coaching, he was a medical device sales rep since no one else wanted him as a coach either. Then Daddy gets the job at AU and he is right back hanging on to Daddy's coat tail with quick promotions all the way from assistant strength coach to now Head Coach.
Not even a single walk on role, internship, or GA position working, coaching, or playing in collegiate or professional athletics for anyone except his Daddy.

No Pearl was an amazing basketball coach. However, he has had affairs while married, lied to the NCAA, cheated multiple times, and has served multiple suspensions in his career for it. Being a good basketball coach doesn't equate to being a good person. He is a prime example lol

He’s gone. I posted this before I’d heard about him retiring today.
I knew the retirement was coming at some point soon to run for Senate. Auburn giving the job to Steven Pearl and Bruce running for Senate has been in the works for many months.
