eh, as for me, i get why the act was so horrible, or may be i dont......

to me, he couldve not done it bare, if that is what he did. in such an event, i can sorta understand the plight of the victim, though i saay sorta because without the video odds are this would have gone unreported, as i understand the victim was outcold, likely from their on drinking.

but more importantly, i giggle at this because i imagine the victim to be Sean Payton, who has no relationship to the LSU program.

oh well, guy turned himself in, water under the bridge to me, he will get whatever punishment he deserves.

Is that true? I think the state goes overboard with some aspects of these matters in general in terms of making people register for life as sex offenders for acts that aren't remotely comparable to molestation or other serious sex crimes.

More likely a flasher than a streaker would register as a sex offender. Depends on the severity of the charge.

I do believe that streakers have to register. I don't necessarily agree with it, but there are lots of reasons one may have to register as a sex offender.

It seems to me if the LSU fan goes to LSU or is from Baton Rouge someone on this site would know him, esp if he was an LSU student. The OT would have figured him out by now.

I've known people who plead to misdemeanor streaking charges who didn't have to register.

I don't believe Mettenberger had to register and he had 2 misdemeanor charges of sexual battery.

ETA: it depends on where you live too.

From what I heard, the streakers at the LSU game a few years back had to register. It may be misinformation though. I think that some of the reasons people have to register are absurd.

Well, if they streaked on TV, it may be different, or if it was premeditated. I guess the point is that it's not a cut and dry... this gets that with ALL crimes that are labeled as sex crimes. There are varying degrees of penalty, and they will figure it all out once he's charged and convicted.

It was a televised game, but it was during a tv timeout. They took off across the field with nothing on but an LSU hard hat.

My brothers friend had to register because he was 18 and had sex with his 16year old girlfriend (one week from 17th birthday). It was a very fricked up situation. He had just turned 18. They had been together for over a year and her parents hated him.

Eta: it all depends on the situation, like you said.

A friend just messaged me that the Sports Director of WKRG-TV in Mobile, Randy Patrick (father of the almost-but-not-quite-teabagger in the video) sent a personal apology today.

To the victim, you ask?

You're kidding, right? Of course not to the victim... he sent a personal apology to NICK SABAN "for any embarrassment it might have caused the University".

Sports media in the state of Alabama... you just can't make this shite up.

Yeah... I've come across situations where people had to register as sex offenders for absolutely absurd reasons, and it completely ruins their lives.

Kind of reminds me of a character from Horrible Bosses. He had to register because he was caught drunk and urinating on a school playground in the middle of the night. They said because it was on school grounds, he had to register as a sex offender.

That doesn't seem all that strange. Seems like if your son was about to take your pants off in front of a camera and you were the sports director, you'd want to do a little damage control in case you ever want an interview.

People tend to attach behavior to entire schools and groups of people, if you haven't noticed, and it would suck for Alabama lose out on a recruit or an opportunity over something his son was a part of.

To be fair, I don't think the victim is known, but I know that wasnt the gist of your point.
