I mean if it makes you feel better to lie to us about it I guess that’s cool. Just don’t lie to yourself.

Dude was 4th or 5th guy approached about the job and is massively overcharging y’all.

LSU was turned down by Fisher, Riley and possibly informally by Fickell early in the process.

I disagree… Coach Kelly has had quite a bit of success and will be a decent man to lead LSU out of the O era. I really don’t know why he’d leave ND ( frick ND since 12/31/73 ) to take over LSU, but here we are. I’m certain it’s a pay raise but damn, it’s not like ND was paying G5 level money.

He wants to win a natty. He cannot do that at ND, LSU has more and better resources.

LSU had reached out early to Jimbo, Franklin, Fickell and yes Kelly early on. As Mel Tucker got rolling his agent I think was contacted. Aranda, Campbell and Napier were never contacted. Once Riley apparently was set on leaving OU, LSU did try to make a play for him due to his agent reaching out to LSU to get a feel for what he could get, but it appears now that USC was in the works the whole time and LSU was smoke screen to give Riley cover to go to USC.

But early one, LSU did contact Kelly about the job, along with the coaches I mentioned.

How bad of a look would it have been if LSU hired a coach their fired coach beat his last game with 3rd and 4th stringers.

Would have been an awful look

According to a ND podcast last night, Kelly was making 7 mil a year.

ND is a private university so no one will truly know.

Well in reality, he played OU like a fiddle. They were all talking about LSU and he went to USC.
