I remember the near universal expectation that Bama was going to just crush the Irish in 2012 and it happened just as everyone expected.

ND had a decent team that year with lots of "Ranked wins" that would later turn out to be fools gold. ND really lost steam through year end, barely surviving a 3 OT game against a crap Pitt team and looking pretty bad against a terrible Lane Kiffin lead USC squad.

So LSU is poor or undesirable then, for the record which is it?

Both our high school and transfer classes are ranked ahead of Tennessee's.

Two playoff games. Which is two more than Kelly won.

Another Bama fan equating 2020 Bama with 2024 Indiana or Georgia.

Very odd.

I would bail as a UGA fan if Brian Kelly coached in Athens. Kelly treats players like shite. That is not the way to win.

I think the narrative revolves around the real old days from over ten to 15 years ago when ND got destroyed by Bama and a few years later, Clemson handled them.

Kelly is .500 against ranked teams overall. At LSU, he's 3-6.

Kelly's Season Records w/Key Losses:

Notre Dame
2010 ... 8-5, Stan (37-14), Navy (35-17), Tulsa
2011 ... 8-5, USC (31-17), Stan (28-14), USF
*2012 ... 12-1, Bama (42-14), *Wins vacated (ineligible players)
*2013 ... 9-4, OU (35-21), Pitt, Mich, Stan, *Wins vacated (ineligible players)
2014 ... 8-5, Arzona State (55-31), USC (49-14), Northwestern, Louisville
2015 ... 10-3, Ohio State (44-28), Clemson, Stan
2016 ... 4-8, USC (45-27), Texas, MSU, Duke, Navy, Va Tech
2017 ... 10-3, Miami (41-8), Stan (38-20), UGA
2018 ... 12-1, Clemson (30-3)
2019 ... 11-2, Michigan (45-14), UGA
2020 ... 10-2, Clemson (34-10), Bama (31-14)
2021 ... 11-2, Cincinnati (24-13)

LSU
2022 ... 10-4, Tennessee (40-13), A&M (38-23), UGA (50-30)
2023 ... 10-3, FSU (45-24), Bama (42-28)
2024 ... 9-4, A&M (38-23), Bama (42-13), UF (27-16)

He feasted on Temple, UMass, Bowling Green, Ga Tech, Purdue, and Service Academies. ND has a historically weak or average SOS. Their HCs have played very similar SOS.

He may be a good coach, but he's not more than that. He may become the first LSU HC in 2+ decades to not win a national championship during his tenure (4 HCs).

Les Miles only succeeded because of what Saban left him = makes sense

Freeman is succeeding because of what Kelly left him = nope, cant be

UGA may not be as good as 2020 Alabama but they dominated LSU and Kelly a couple years ago , but true, it’s no big deal. Hell, Jalen Milroe dominated LSU this past year

Freeman inherited a program that won 10 -11 games a year under BK .
Now he`s considered a better coach because in his 3rd year he finialy
has a good team.He lost more games in in 3 years than BK did in 5.But he`s
a better coach.YOU CAN`T MAKE THIS shite UP.Freeman inherited
a gold mine compared to BK.

The Notre Dame players think Freeman is a better coach. Go argue with them about it.

ND fans still salty and butt hurt it’s great. They literally played the most cupcake schedule all season and they’re happy that they made it to the final four like Brian Kelly did at Notre Dame twice and played in the national championship game
