He plays a weak garbage schedule compared to LSU.
Thompson high school goes 8-4 with Notre Dame's schedule.
He has it made at Notre Dame no pressure compared to the SEC west.

Take what you want with it but PFF ranked ND as one of the hardest schedules this year

Not to mention they play no conference championship game so the season is done while other power 5s are battling it out in CC games. In addition, he can win 11 games and be in consideration for the playoffs every year with an extra week to get healed up and ready for the games.

I know a huge Notre Dame fan and booster. He's accepted that Notre Dame probably won't win at a clip like the best SEC or even Big Ten teams. He says the academic standards are too high and unless they lower them for football players it won't change and he's ok with that. He likes Brian Kelly and believes he is doing about the best anyone can do at Notre Dame.

He may not be the hire they are looking for but I believe he is a top 5 coach
