Do all of ya’ll remember when the video of Saban dancing on a recruiting visit was posted on here? And all the LSU fans were like “recruits love that; that is how recruiting works; that is not the cringiest thing ever”? No, I don’t remember that either

What’re you 12? That’s disgusting and just plain stupid. Are you not better than this? Shameful

Nothing like winning in the sun belt though.

Winning at a high level is 90 percent recruiting. I don't care where he won, chief, he's proven he can win vs other coaches with comparable talent. (And coaches with much better talent, see Iowa State and Matt Campbell in 2019) Winning at an elite level is about organizational skill and recruiting. He does both at an elite level. He's also never grinded his butt into a recruit or said "Fah-Muh-Lay" with a fake accent.

You do realize that you can read this board without registering? I bet there are a lot of folks that have been reading for years but have never registered.

But LSU has always recruited well. I think he was a solid hire but when we see these videos it’s just hard to not get the feeling that we’re looking at a guy who’s going to be in over his head with a few losses and a very volatile and rabid fanbase. Urban Meyer scared Alabama fans. This guy…not so much.

This is actually a reasonable evaluation.
It's seems like if it goes wrong, it's going to go really wrong and just seems like it's going to forever teeter on being a decent hire or complete train wreck.
Maybe it's the combination of a weird, strange, polarizing personality in BK and a unique, volatile fanbase in LSU.

A lot like Harbaugh. And will probably have similar results. A bunch of bad to average seasons, never beating their biggest rivals...and one good season.
But because BK and LSU are such polar opposites, he won't have nearly the leash that Michigan gave Harbaugh as he's an alumni.

I wouldn't call #18 recruiting at an "elite level."

Nothing about the sun belt or Napier is elite. Keep telling yourself whatever you need to. I’ll reiterate - you’ll miss Ron Zook by the time he’s done.

So happy lsu dodged that bullet.

It’s elite in the sun belt.

So you're claiming you read this board daily for three years before joining?

Taking up room without actually contributing to success. Sounds like an Aggy.

One did it with Saban's players. The other was won in spite of him and because of Brady/Burrow.

I’ll take it

I definitely didn’t read daily, but I have been reading the forums here for way more than 3 years. The number of smug pricks and assholes kept me from registering. Finally, the boredom of covid made me relent and sign up, even if I knew then it was the wrong thing to do.
