Kentucky finally walked him intentionally and Gridley delivers a 2 RBI hit. 10-4 State headed to 9th.

It will be interesting to see how they pitch him tomorrow.

rooker now leads the nation in home rund and RBIs and is second in batting average. Leading SEC in all categories by a mile.

He's putting together one of the best individual seasons in college baseball history.

Considering it'll be for the series, they'll likely walk him. Hell I would. They're not there to pad his stats, they're there to win another SEC series and build that post-season resume.

I agree.

Even if they don't intentionally walk him, I can't imagine they'll throw a single strike to him.

And don't get me wrong, I hate the intentional walk. I hated it when people did it to AJ Reed (that and playing the shift against him). Just think Mingione knows he's got a young squad and needs to keep some momentum on the road in the thick of SEC play. Our bullpen also isn't that deep. Some good starters, but it lacks depth right now.

His batting average in SEC play (around .462) is about 13 points higher than against all opponents (around .449).

He definitely is seeing the ball really well right now, hope it holds out for him, sad our pitching is so shoddy this year due to injury or we would have a shot in Omaha.

I'd Walk him, too; unless he's up, with none on.

Odds are still in your favor, & one run won't kill your chances, in most innings.
