The barners have a lot of gall thinking they'll flip a kid who's been committed to the National Champions for a year.

Caller - "have you looked at that big Tight End from Gardendale?"

Neil Calloway - "Yes, we've looked at him and he is a good player, and he could be one that we look at down the road."

Caller - "Coach, I heard that you already offered that guy."

Calloway - "no, that's not true."

Caller - "Coach, I know it's true because I was in the living room with him when you made the offer, I'm his dad."

Calloway - "I'm sorry but that's not true."

Caller was cut off.

The guy is a dipshit. He called in just to try to get the coach to praise his son on the radio. If you were sitting in the room when he offered, you already know what thinks about "the big tight end from Gardendale.

i have only seen him state that "saban wants me at linebacker"..where did he say that he is dead-set on linebacker?

I think I am really going to be more suited for defense anyway in college. Right now I am already about 217 pounds and almost 6-foot-3. I love playing offense, but if defense is where I need to be to get to the next level, that is where I will play.

the article that went up today quotes him as saying he is completely open to playing on either side of the ball..i think his growing frame is more suited for linebacker..but i won't questions the coaches opinion of his abilities and the deep down desire of 17 year old kids to "carry the rock"

**and no where in the quote you put up does he say he is dead set on linebacker..he said he would do whatever he needed at the next level..alabama sees him at linebacker...auburn obviously sees him at running back..hence..either side of the ball will get him to the next level

I guess Alabama should just move on then. Calloway is obviously sold on being the "only runningback" for Auburn in 2011.

no one said he was "sold" on the idea..but your kidding yourself to take everything as black/white or hot/cold when it comes to the mind of a 17 year old..all it takes is one "talk to this effing kid" comment
