He was possibly baseball family friends with the family so connection may be there as far as personal relationship, but as far as I know he never dated the wife. Unless of course he has multiple relationships at a time. Just squashing that bug.

Is LSU, historically, a better job than Texas?
I only bring it up, because Sully turned Texas down, too. Texas has a hell of an easier path to the CWS, than does LSU.
