Here's a link to our future schedules.
Non SEC road games to our P5 home and home
Kansas State in 18-19
NC State in 20-21 and
Arizona in 22-23
UL Lafayette in the Superdome in 2019
Memphis at the Liberty Bowl in 2021
Tulane in 2023
At USM in 2024
Not a bad method IMO, we recruit in all of those areas New Orleans, Memphis, South Mississippi. Plus we will have huge road crowds at ALL of those games.

Skip Bertman did it all the time during his AD years at LSU. He said it benefits state schools and the people who are fans of the smaller state schools are also LSU fans who rarely get to travel to see LSU games.
This makes no sense. You can travel to see an LSU game if they are playing USA. You dont need for it to be ULL

Skip Bertman wasn't scheduling road games at schools like La Tech and ULL. He was playing one home game a year against an in-state opponent, outside the one game that was played in the Superdome in 2007 against Tulane where all the proceeds from the game went to the Katrina relief. And playing a road game in the state doesn't make more money for the state. LSU wouldn't bring a bunch of people to Rustin or Lafayette that would stay there and spend a bunch of money helping the local economy. He was just throwing a bone to the smaller state schools and paying them 750k to play LSU in Tiger Stadium instead of paying a different out of state school to come play LSU.

There's the problem. Bama and Auburn have already taken the bids for USM up to almost $2 million /game. Nobody is paying that for football in the state of MS. This entire scene is strictly about bottom line finances.

I think Skip did a good thing there for Louisiana.
State is in a different situation. We don't have a 100K stadium that is already sold out every year. In LSU's case, bring Nichols, Tech, ULL to BR and share the wealth.
State is in a position where doing the 2-1 deals is good for everyone.
Also, the Lafayette deal is good even though it is a 1-1. However our road game is at the Dome on Labor Day weekend in 2019. Crowd will probably be 50-50 for each team. ULL plays at State next year. That overall is a good deal for us and our fans.
Each school has to parlay its own strengths and I think we (State) have managed that pretty well in the recent years.
