So it was...a matter of principle? a science experiment gone wrong? a magic trick involving catching a bullet in his teeth? an argument over LSU's running game? If there's more involved in the matter than a "free" gaming system, I haven't heard it, so please do enlighten me further.

CEH shot a man who was threatening to kill him and his friend. That is why the suspect died.

How's this for a reasonably compromise: assuming all the facts we are currently in possession of are correct, shooting the man in self-defense was entirely justified and understandable. But that doesn't change the fact that it's awful when somebody dies over something as petty as money, whether it's because a mugger shoots his robbery victim or a robbery victim shoots the mugger. A human life, one that so many other people have invested time and money and (hopefully) love into for many years has been destroyed in a matter of seconds. Even if that particular human doesn't have many redeeming qualities, everyone has the potential to do good in this world. Killing people over such petty things as money or games is just stupid and pointless and the human race should be better than this by now. I think that's a fair way of looking at the situation.

just stop...you're talking about 2 entirely different situations

Seriously. That some people use this situation to troll is pretty messed up. How empty is your life that you need to troll something like this for your entertainment?

Hate it for the players. Glad they are physically OK. Hope they’re ok mentally and emotionally.

Hate it for the perp. What a dumb decision he made and he’s paid the ultimate price for that stupid decision.

Hate it for the families of all involved. Horrible thing to have happened but especially at this time of the year.

But the bottom line is that this appears to be a justifiable shooting. Why use it to troll on a sports website at Christmastime?

Yeah I can't blame them. If you see someone pointing something that looks like a gun at you it's natural to react in defense of yourself

Show me where I said you objected to him selling his bowl gift. I never said that. I said you're implying that's what he did and you definitely did so, likely to spur on the rhetoric that he did something wrong in ncaa's eyes. Trolling and making light of a very serious incident.

You oversensitive fricking twat. Can't even tell the difference between me making a noncontroversial observation about how stupid it is that people die over money and trolling your university. I was doing no such thing and the fact that you're an oversensitive fricking twat doesn't change that. Either you're too stupid to understand what I was actually saying or you're too stubborn to admit you had a knee-jerk reaction to something you misinterpreted. Either way, you're a twat.

God, there are more of you. I was talking about the same situation. Greed created a situation where someone died. It's fricked-up that people are still dying because of someone's greed. In this case, it was the robber being greedy and getting himself killed. How are there multiple ones of you completely unable to grasp that point? I mean, it's not even a complicated philosophical situation. It's basic A->B level logic. Robber. Greedy. Robber tries to rob someone in possession of a gun. That someone shoots robber in self-defense. Robber dies because of his greed. Some oversensitive frickwit LSU fan decides his feelings are hurt because he can't manage basic reading comprehension. You join it, presumably out of frickwit solidarity with another LSU fan. And everyone lives happily ever after.

In fairness, it is LSU fans you are talking about here. Dumbest fans on the rant.

I agree with you that killing someone is a bad deal... However, its a matter of record that in these specific circumstances the deceased was the 1st to draw a weapon and issue a threat... Under these circumstances there is no guarantee you will not be shot even if you do comply with the assailants request. So here is where I think your rational is flawed.. A person was not killed because of money or a game.. A person was killed because they threatened another persons life...

You are arguing with a gang of Neanderthal posters who are embarrassingly dumb. They are not playing semantics, they are really this stupid. You are dealing with low IQ humans who have bred with other low IQ humans for tens of thousands of years. You can not overcome thousands of years of genetic shite with reasonable ideas and basic logic. It will not work. There is no polite way to confront insanity and idiocy.
