My son got into shooting Airsoft guns a few years back. Other than an orange tip (which could be removed with 1 minute of effort), the airsoft guns look exactly like real guns. In fact, they are replicas of specific real-life pistols. He has a Beretta like the one posted, a 1911, and a couple others (a Luger as one). I gaurantee that on first glance you would believe it's the real deal, you can even rack the slide and such.
First glance when it's pointed at you, is all that matters. You might not get a second glance.
Interestingly, such an item might intentionally be the plan for a gangster- if he's randomly stopped and searched, he can say "aw man this is just a toy".
For the idea that it was a drug deal gone wrong-
this is Helaire's home town. If he wanted to get some weed, I'm going to guess he didn't need to take out a Craigslist ad for a PS4 to do so, he could easily just talk to a less scrupulous friend or acquaintance.

The robber wasn’t shot to save a PlayStation. He was shot because he was threatening the lives of two people. I know this must be a difficult concept for you to grasp. Edwards Hellaire had no idea if the robber was going to shoot him, nor would you in the same situation. Many robberies like this end in someone being shot. Edwards hellaire made sure that person wasn’t him. KYS
How's this for a reasonably compromise: assuming all the facts we are currently in possession of are correct, shooting the man in self-defense was entirely justified and understandable. But that doesn't change the fact that it's awful when somebody dies over something as petty as money, whether it's because a mugger shoots his robbery victim or a robbery victim shoots the mugger. A human life, one that so many other people have invested time and money and (hopefully) love into for many years has been destroyed in a matter of seconds. Even if that particular human doesn't have many redeeming qualities, everyone has the potential to do good in this world. Killing people over such petty things as money or games is just stupid and pointless and the human race should be better than this by now. I think that's a fair way of looking at the situation.

Nobody in this situation was killed over money

So it was...a matter of principle? a science experiment gone wrong? a magic trick involving catching a bullet in his teeth? an argument over LSU's running game? If there's more involved in the matter than a "free" gaming system, I haven't heard it, so please do enlighten me further.

Someone was killed because they fricked up and tried to rob someone that was equipped to defend himself. End of story

I wasn't treating it as a joke. The person I replied to made an inane statement. I was pointing out that it was inane. I swear to God, some of you frickers are just the worst combination of oversensitive and deeply stupid. I can't imagine that the rest of your fanbase doesn't desperately wish y'all would just cheer for another team. Any other team. Your type gets offended so easily it's a wonder you can function in the real world without the services of permanent noise-cancelling headphones and a full-time shrink to reassure you that people aren't out get you.

Actually you've mentioned several times that someone was killed over money, and that isn't true. You acknowledge it was self defense, and that is true.
The guy didn't get killed because he decided not to pay for the item. THAT would make it about money.
Instead, he got killed because he pulled out a "gun", so what had to be done was done.
You also assume he was selling a "free gaming system". Why do you think that? It's because you're using this episode to troll and try to be funny.
You're not. You're an imbicile.

Yep, you are deeply stupid. My point was that the entire affair was about money. He wasn't robbing them of happy-go-lucky feelings. I didn't say the player was trying to get money. The transaction itself was about money. The guy tried to rob them. He died because of his greed. Had there not been money involved, there would have been no situation in the first place. There would have been no attempt to rob, no self-defense. This is not graduate school-level reading comprehension. This is extremely basic.
I wasn't fricking trying to troll, you oversensitive twat. God, is there something in the swamp water that causes your brain to seize up whenever someone tries to make an actual point about something even remotely involving LSU? Why do other fanbases on the Rant come nowhere near the paranoid frickwittery of some of you? I know some LSU posters here try their best to act like rational human beings to offset ones like you, and I feel sorry for them not being able to do so.
Incidentally, when you call someone an "imbecile," try not to overload the irony meter by misspelling the word.
Edit: And now let's wait for you to continue missing the point because even if you realize how stupid you were being, you'll never admit it because you're twat. If we're lucky, you'll just go mashing the downvote button and feel like you've accomplished something, this sparing us the continued twattery.

You're actually in multiple threads implying any negative angle you can come up with, like possible NCAA violations for selling bowl game swag, when there's no evidence saying that's what he was selling. Continue to troll though

You. fricking. Oversensitive. Twat.
At least you're sparing us the rest of your twattery and focusing on this one issue now. I literally think that if he sold the swag, he was entirely justified in doing so. You know why you can't quote me otherwise? Because I never said otherwise. Hell, go through my recent posts. In another thread, I was quite clear on this point.

Edit: Here, I'll save you the trouble, you oversensitive twat

I mean, holy frick, it was actually in reply to you. I made it very clear I had no objection whatsoever.

Show me where I said you objected to him selling his bowl gift. I never said that. I said you're implying that's what he did and you definitely did so, likely to spur on the rhetoric that he did something wrong in ncaa's eyes. Trolling and making light of a very serious incident.
