And what about the most important side of this, the academics? What happens to the normal student when they straight up get caught cheating?
Kicked out of school or punished accordingly to dept standards.

The most mississippi state thing ever will happen. we will some how have 8 wins going into the egg bowl just to get completely demolished. bookmark this.

Solid thread though baw. Minus a few comments/posts, this thread has been a good discussion.

I prefer you have 5 wins. But yes, bookmarked.

Also, in what games do you think are the most likely to see these 10 players active? Would it be worth it to throw them out there vs. Alabama, or more worth it to sit them and save them for a more winnable game?
I think you sit them for:
ULL
Southern Miss
Kansas State
Kentucky
Arkansas
Alabama
Abilene Christian
Ole Miss

Truth is, though, the choosing of the games will mitigate the severity of the suspensions substantially. They still get to practice, correct?

thats more so focused on this years sig bet of 9 regular season wins for state

They get an X on their transcript like any other student who cheats. Will be forced to retake the class.

yes they still can practice I believe

I believe State can divvy up which games they are suspended and they all dont have to be suspended for the same game.
Where is this info coming from? I've heard a few State posters say this but haven't seen anything like that.

I think the most likely scenario is the suspensions are spread out, but if they are wholesale, you picked the right 8

They wont sit versus ole miss. especially if we have a senior.

Yes and no. I bet Joe has his stuff already set. He will now have to adjust. If they do pick the games, its extra adjustments every game. Then you have a team that has been playing, senior players, that may get pushed aside for these younger guys - who were Joe's classes.
State didn't have the problem Arkansas did, with players needing purged because they were Bert's. However, the players that are in trouble are Joe's kids, and the upper class players will now suffer because of them.
This isn't a good thing, even when trying to spin it. It's a punishment.

So if you get caught cheating in college you just get an "X" and take the class again. Man, sure would have thought the punishment would be more than that. Not much to keep a lot from trying.

I've heard the first red flag in this academic misconduct issue occurred when the tutor submitted class work for athletes while they were actively competing on the field of play.
Seriously...

from reading Steve's article, two of the 10 did not play last year, so they were either RS or Freshmen or Early spring enrollees maybe?
He also said that all misconduct was from the same General Chemistry class (freshman-level class) which leads me to believe most if not all players involved were underclassmen at the time.
Could be wishful thinking, but I feel like most of the players involved in this are not in our 2 deep.
