Actually, I AM for gun control in the US.

"It was caused by a kid who was irresponsible and didn't care about the lives of others."

So, please share with us WHAT made him irresponsible.

this is a silly line of thinking

people say it doesn't impair people?

no one, in my life that I've seen, has claimed it doesn't impair people. What in the got damn frick does that have to do with whether it should be avialable to willing adults? IT woudl still be illegal to operate a vehicle after use, just like alochol is now. There will still be people that abuse that, adn those people would be punished accordingly.

That's what this article states. Until we have evidence countering that claim, ...

It's illegal in many places. & this is a good argument for that.

Ok, so you are on record for alcohol prohibition too?

Once again, cannabis is ILLEGAL in Alabama. What changes this situation if it's legal?

Blame anyone but the kid right?

Let's take away cars. Without cars he wouldn't have had something to drive to hit them with. Tens of thousands of people are killed by cars every year, they clearly should be illegal.

no it isn't, at all. It's illegal because the govt back in the day wanted blacks and hippies to be jailed instaed of upsetting whitie so they criminilized it. Then the boomer generation were brainwashed into thinking it was some source of unspeakable evil on par with heroin or cystal meth. The reason weed is illegal has NOTHING to do with facts or logic.

YOu seem to be thinking "someone got hurt becaus eof htis, therefore it's right that it's illegal". Do you know how many people die each year of high blood pressure? Or morbid obesity? Or heart related issues? By your logic we should ban all sugar, fast food, simple carbs, etc. I mean...who cares that most people can enjoy those things responsibly, but a few fatties balloon up to 800 pounds and their heart gives out so we should make it unavailable to everyone..right?

Simple, NO American citizen should own a gun similar to those used in the military.
Also, what person needs any gun that can fire multiple rounds of ammunition quickly?

that would have been prevented if weed were illegal? Wait what?

YOu can hit a driver from where you stand and hit someone that has smoked in the last month. I 100% guarantee you that. People use and are going to use whether it's illegal or not. Your righteous stance of keeping it illegal doesn't do a single thing to make society safer.

but "normal" guns are fine right? A simple handgun or pistol? You seem to be ok with adults owning those.

So I'm curious why you think that considering how many gun deaths we have every year, especially compared to the amount of marijuana deaths. Or I guess I should say "marijuana RELATED deaths", since no one in recorded history has ever died from too much marijuana.
