We have a young team, we need all the practice we can get. Additionally, the players want to go to a bowl game. They get tons of free shite and it is fun. If you were to take a poll of the entire football team I'd be willing to bet that at least 75 percent would be in favor of accepting a bowl bid at 5-7.

ETA: I also try to avoid that place as much as possible. Half my HS is either in there drinking or working.

a bowl should be a reward. if they start letting in teams with losing records im afraid it will get worse and before long almost every team will go to a bowl.

Well we're gonna be 4-8. So your point is mute. Also I dont want us to go the New Orleans bowl or any BS like that. You get to 6 wins and you go to a real bowl. If you dont you sit on your couch and watch with the rest of us.

Nothing to disagree with here, but if ole miss doesn't fill the slot then some other "undeserving" team will.

yes, assuming that at least 6 of the 12 teams with 5 wins do not win next week.

Shake the haters off man. A person with sense would say go to the bowl, but folks around here already hate Ole Miss, so they're saying it would be embarrassing.

No one will remember the game anyway, and like you said, you'll have a whole month of extra practice, and maybe some cash for your university. I don't see the problem here.

This is the only incentive...I believe I read where last year the only ones that practiced for the Outback Bowl were the players that would be returning this year...and then about 7 days before the game all of the seniors came into the mix to prepare...

That's where it's heading. There used to be what, 4 bowls? Now there's 35. Soon, teams that go 4-8 or 3-9 can just invite some other shitty team to come play a game around Christmas or New Years and call it a bowl game.

For example, "The Sunflower Bowl." This game will be played when neither Kansas nor Kansas State are bowl eligible. This is the future.

His point can't speak or does not make any noise? Ha ha.

But besides that, I think it is a disgrace to have so many bowls and have the need to feel spots with teams with losing records. At least a 6-6 team has the opportunity to finish with a winning record should they win the bowl. At 5-7, they'll still be under .500 with a win. Lame.
