Couldn't they they fill those bids with FCS teams with winning records?

Didn't Appalachian St. go to a bowl game last year or the year before last?

There are 12 teams who have 5 wins right now. And there are 6 bowl spots left to these teams.

There are 20 teams that can still become bowl eligible. Some have 5 wins and some have 4 wins with 2 games to play. I think Troy has 5 wins with 2 to play as well.

5 win teams on left:

Colorado v Nebraska
Texas v Texas A&M
Louisville v Rutgers
Houston v Texas Tech
Oregon St v Stanford
Cal v Washington
Georgia v Georgia Tech
Tenn v Kentucky
Florida Int v Arkansas St
Troy v Western Kentucky
Idaho v Fresno St
Western Michigan v Bowling Green
Louisiana-Monroe v Lousiana-Lafayette

4 wins with 2 to play:

Cincy v UCONN then Pitt
Rutgers v Louisville then West Virginia
Washington v Cal then Washington St
UCLA v Arizona St then Hawaii
Florida Atl v Middle Tenn then Troy
Middle Tenn v Florida Atl then Florida Int
Louisiana Tech v San Jose St then Nevada

If Ole Miss wins on Saturday is there a chance we will be selected for a bowl game with a 5-7 record? Assuming that there are available spots.

Doubtful.

Didn't Ole Miss get an extra month of practice last year? How did that work out for you? Couldn't have taken Jacksonville State into OT without it?

Great. Now Nutt can tell you how lucky you are to go to a bowl 3 years in a row.

Nevermind it's hard not to get 5 wins if you are a team in a BCS conference.

Houston, Oregon State, Louisiana-Monroe, Cal, Idaho, UCLA, Florida Atlantic are eliminated from bowl play.

Georgia, Florida International and Troy are bowl eligible and are the 68th, 69th, and 70th teams to become eligible.

3 teams have 5 wins and can still become eligible next week. They are on the far left below.

Washington v Washington St
Middle Tenn v Florida Int
Louisiana Tech v Nevada

Oregon State is 5-6. But the only team that actually has a legitimate shot at winning of the 4 with 5 wins is Washington.
