Bobo-Friend package is not a bad package at all. That package had record-setting offense at UGA in 2012 and 2013.
But they've got to get their jimmie's and joes too. Recruiting at AU with Saban to his left and Kirby/Dabo to his right, that's going to be a challenge.
I wish Bobo and Friend well, so long as it isn't at UGA's expense. I'll hate them one day a year.

The word is that Beamer did NOT want to keep Bobo, but was talked into it because there was the issue of his buyout money after paying Muschamp's extra high buyout (+ $2 mill since our AD is an idiot and didn't sign Muschamp's new contract at the beginning of the year.) Now Auburn has to pay Bobo's buyout so it frees up that issue.
Just what I've been hearing from Gamecock media sauces.

there are pluses with both bobo and shaw for Stockton.
Bobo knows the family and encouraged him to play QB.

Bobo wanted to go to Auburn, there was no real effort on our part to keep him here, the feeling was if Bobo wanted to leave for Auburn, then let him. This was not a bidding war.
Now Beamer can use his connections to hire his OC, and maybe some of the players who transferred due to Bobo being retained will rethink it.
In my humble opinion, this is a good thing to start fresh after a 2-8 season, and get rid of as many Muschamp holdovers and UGA retreads as possible.

I feel like there was another coach not long ago who road the path of a prize QB into financial windfall. I think the QB's name was Mustain, this story doesn't end all that well for the kid.

Not even close.
As long as Conner Shaw is at USCjr, then Stockton goes there. Shaw's dad is Gunner's HS coach.

The players went to the school administration and told them they didn't want to play for Mike Bobo in a bowl game. Why do you think they would want to play for him next season?
