this part isn't even debatable though. It's an objective fact that all anyone would have to do is just look. As mentioned above we went a two year stretch with only signing three total OL (only 1 of which was passable). That isn't a discussion or a conversation, it is black and white proof that OL was not a priority.

We did the "all-in" strategy for recruits at every position.

It worked with Crowell.
It worked with Jordan Jenkins.
It worked with Malcom Mitchell.

Players liked being the priority and chose us over other schools.

The problem was the batting average.
1/3 is good for baseball.
It isnt good when you are competing with Alabama, Florida, and Auburn for top in-state talent.

I have been told by a reliable source that Monken didn't care for Stetson, and it was Kirby's call to put him in for JT Daniels over Carson Beck.

Telling the best recruit at their position "hey your'e our guy and we aren't even looking at anyone else" adn then literally having no backup once that guy goes elsewhere isn't prioritizing anything.

You may need to look up the definition of prioritizing.
The definition is an order of emphasis.
Every year we didnt sign a top OL or top S, we had offered a top OL and S.

What you won't find in the definition is any reference to success. There is no measure when you are using the word prioritization.

This is getting dumb.
But you are reflecting the statement that I feel is incorrect. I said my piece. We can agree to disagree since you don't own a smartphone that can Google a damn definition.

The Gulf South Conference used to be referred to as “the SEC of D-II”. In the last 10 years, three members moved to FCS, two dropped football completely, and two moved to conferences with much less travel cost.

The GSC has lost it’s automatic qualifier status for the playoffs due to numbers, and Valdosta State just announced that it was going independent in football and moving all other sports to the Peach Belt.

The current commissioner, who was not even in the position when all of the above but the VSU move happened, is being blamed for “not doing anything to get new members”. There are no football schools in the SE for him to get. He could be on the phone and making personal visits 12 hours a day, seven days per week and not be able to solve the problem.

He can prioritize all he wants without having success.

Richt’s strategy was a complete failure. How could he get numbers and quality at other positions but sometimes not have enough OL to even go two deep.

Kirby came in and immediately was successful recruiting OL because he made it an emphasis.

You could out skill player and acc or big east schedule, an SEC schedule requires depth and quality in the trenches.

Why Richt struggled with this I guess is the Miami and FSU back ground... Bowden said it best, he was just too nice.

I agree with all of that except that last line.
Kirby came in and immediately had success because he wasn't stupid.
He didn't handcuff committable scholarship offers to an 85 man roster limit as it was deemed in October.

He recruited to team numbers for the following June when non-midyears were joining the team.
This isn't just referencing OL.
This isn't just referencing DB.
I affects every position group.
The success is more obvious for OL and DB because each game you will need 6 OL and 7 DB.

Why Richt struggled with this

Not sure if it was primarily on Richt or the coaching staff, but they had a bad tendency to whiff on talent evaluation, too. It always seemed like we had no shortage of big signings that ended up playing like 2 or 3 star players. Kirby and his staff seem to have reversed that - we now have guys who were apparent mediocre recruits that turn out to be surprisingly good.

What I don't get is that we don't do this for ANY other coach or position player in school history,

I can think of a couple of DCs that got the hate treatment for good cause.
Willie Martinez and Todd ( 3rd and) Grantham.

I got 3 down votes from the Bobo haters. Why won't they name themselves?

Ignore the down votes.

I havent down voted anyone in about 19 years (and that was some racist rant).

If there is no monetization tied to up/down, they are pointless.

I do upvote when I agree. But the entire system is pointless.

Might have been the best OC in the history of the SEC.
