There's a lot more behind the scenes stuff to their relationship, but Bo turned down multiple surgeries over his career that would have ended seasons early to keep playing for Ole Miss. I believe he put off a labrum surgery in his throwing shoulder for close to 3 years.
Freeze could have thrown Bo a bone after he was done.
