Tua Tagovailoa confirmed the notion he looked to transfer up until the national championship game Alabama won with him, replacing Jalen Hurts at halftime and throwing three touchdowns that included the winner in overtime in Atlanta.

“Even throughout my football season, I wasn't the starter," Tagovailoa told the crowd of seventh- and eighth-graders Thursday in his homeland of Hawaii as reported by Hawaii News Now. "I wanted to leave the school. So, I told myself if I didn't play in the last game, which was the national championship game, I would transfer out.”

It’s amazing what a difference a competent OL can make. Well, that and a charmin soft defensive league. He looked like the same old Bo against UGA.

Nix played lights out last year against LSU. Surprised the hell out of me and showed how good he really is.

But they replaced him with TJ Finley.

He was "benched" for the LSU game. Then came in and balled.

His last 3 of 4 games were some of his best before he got hurt.
Arkansas 21/26 | 292 Pass Yards | 2TDs/1Int
Ole Miss 22/30 | 276 Pass Yards | 1TD/)0Ints
Mississippi State 27/41 | 377 Pass Yards | 2Tds/OInts

MSU was the game that he was hurt in.

The UGA game proved it was a Bo Nix vs SEC competition problem.

he has a good Oline.

This is the main thing. But also lesser competition.

That boy has been dropping some dimes. The Auburn program is a dumpster fire and is killing careers for anybody who stays.

Or Auburn sucked with him at the helm and he is proving his mettle in the PAC-12, which is still an inferior conference.

Yeah, his defensive competition was definitely a lateral move.

It was never a Bo problem at AU. I remember last year against UGA he was throwing dimes all game long against a vastly superior team. Wide Recievers had like 11 drops and the fans put it all on Bo. The guy had Gus, Chad Morris and Bobo as his OCs for goodness sake.

Nix has time to think behind a good oline, and he has the luxury of managing the offense. Malzhan and Harsin’s offenses strangle some QBs and doesn’t allow them the freedom to be creative.

Nix is exactly where he needs to be and Dillingham is the perfect OC for him. Good for the kid.

I think it was a Gus Malzahn problem. Bo had two years where he didn’t develop because Gus can’t.

He got a little better with Harsin last year but the change of scenery and relative talent advantage he goes into games with now has really helped him.

Biggest thing is an OL problem.
AU doesn't have one who can keep the defense out of the backfield.
Bo was running for his life all the time out of necessity, not because he wanted to.

Please God, is there some conceivable way that UGA could play against Bo Nix and Oregon in the natty?

He had 2 INTs yesterday. That is playing in the Pac12. He hasn't changed that much, but the competition has.

You aren't wrong. However, you'd blow Bo and Gus to have them both back at this point. As bad as the PAC 12 is Auburn would be middle of the pack at best in that conference.

One of them was the Hail Mary at the end of the first half.
The other hit his WR in the numbers, and he mis-handled it, got hit and it fell into the DB's hands.

Neither were because of bad throws or bad decisions.

One was a garbage jump ball, the other was solely the WR's fault.

It’s a Harsin problem mostly…
