I'm just trying to figure out why Blake Sims isn't starting since he's better than one of the best, all-time, college dual threat QBs.

I know who you are...your the guy who started all the crap about bama players and cars in gadsden...you aint fooling me

Did you read the article, Donnie?

He is our secret weapon
Only breaking him out if Simms doesnt beat out mccaron

The quote is from BS's HS coach, and he said that BS was more advanced in HS than Cam was in HS.

If you are rotating 3 QBs, that is not a good sign for the O and you are doing DC's a favor, not throwing too much at them as your post suggested.

So you think Don made this up?
quote:
"I coached against him," Miller said of Newton. "Cam is bigger, a little more powerful, breaks more tackles."
So which one would Miller take?
"I'll take 'em both," he said, laughing. But, he added, "At that stage of high school, Blake was probably a little bit better."
No, I think he was trying so hard for a quote to please the bammers, that he makes his whole article lack credibility. Newspapers are so afraid
of upsetting the readers that they fail to report with any substance. If I did not see the by line, I would have thought it was written by Kirk McNair.

Meh, I'd say Blake Sims is faster. But Cam was bigger, stronger, had a better arm, had more upside, etc... I'll be surprised to ever see Blake Sims take the field at QB in anything other than a Wildcat role.

Oh so you watched both of them play in hs?

Meh. Worked out fine with Leak and Tebow.

quote:First, that is 2, not 3. Second, that is one of only a few times dual QBs has worked. Third, that mainly worked because Tebow was basically a situational sub and Chris Leak was a senior starter and leader whose job was secure. Fourth, Meyer ran an offense that made situational QB rotation work, Bama doesn't really (except the few times they run the wildcat). Lastly, Sims and McCarron are similar style QBs and thus a rotation doesn't make sense except where neither has shown enough to be the man.
Meh. Worked out fine with Leak and Tebow.
Thus, Tebow/Leak =/= McCarron/Sims/Sims

Quit trying to turn this into something positive for Bama He'll never even start at QB
You cannot dispute anything I said in this comment:
quote:
Cam was bigger, stronger, had a better arm, had more upside, etc...
He proved all of that by being the #1 overall pick
I'd be excited to see him at WR if I was a Bama fan, maybe the Wildcat QB, but not as the starting QB

No, anyone saying Blake Sims could be another Cam Newton is doing that.

No one said that

in auburns system blake could probably be statistically as good if not better than cam newton...in bamas system he will never see the field as a starting QB...remember simplistic equals fast

Or, if you're not looking for a reason to downplay Bama, you could say both have shown enough to be the man.
