Yes, disparate impact has effected blacks so heavily in the space of college athletics they get over 80% of all full ride athletic scholarships in men’s sports.
So again, tell us, are black athletes the only ones being capped? Would you be ok with a white only lawsuit?

Feel like this is just a clever way to create a test case to end amateurism. I don’t have an emotional attachment to amateurism so whatever.

We need to also lobby for safe space showers. White athletes should not have to go into group showers where their inadequacy in certain areas are put on display. Individual shower stalls are a must.

Why not just kill all of us white people. We’re so evil and are white supremacist whether we know it or not.
Just blow us off the face of the planet or at least make our wives have to cheat on us with one black man a day for being white

Is this lawsuit about being black or is it just black people coming together to file the lawsuit as a group and being represented by attorneys that are similar to Jesse Jackson?

So the timeline...
1960's Blacks want to participate in white's athletics.
2020's Blacks make up the majority of most athletics and want to sue because their civil rights are being violated.
This is what liberals do. They complain until they can participate, and then kill it from within once they are allowed to participate. Black culture is rooted in liberal politics and until they become more balanced politically, this will continue. I feel bad for conservative blacks just like I do liberal Chinese. It is a tough row to hoe.

That's essentially what I was trying to get at with an earlier comment, but I think you summed it up better.
Heard a former conference commissioner speak recently and this type of legislation was his foremost concern. He said that in his opinion, these things that are coming down the pipe (in the legal system) will make college athletics a totally different game than what we all grew up with.
I think we might as well get ready to watch the passion of college sports get slowly stripped more and more away.

Opinions on the subject matter aside, this along with the coming lawsuits on compensation (such as that regarding unionization, for example) is yet another crack in the foundation of the traditional college sports model.
The O'Bannon case has opened Pandora's box on this type of legislation.
ETA: In other words, college sports is about to change, significantly. NIL was the tip of the iceberg.
You're not wrong, but these athletes will cut off their noses to spite their faces. The end result they want will also result in a significant number of athletic departments going out of business, resulting in significantly fewer opportunities for kids to get a free education. But people never think about the vast majority of college athletes that will suffer and only the small number of athletes who will profit. But hey, let's just burn it all down.

I don’t think this lawsuit has a thing to do with being black, I think we’re misunderstanding it.
It’s hard for me to find the words to explain what I think is going on . Lol
I hate when that happens. I tried in the post above .
I may be completely wrong but I don’t think they are trying to use being black as the way they’re being screwed over, I just think they are coming together as a group of black people to fight against anyone being capped in their earnings.
I’m probably wrong though, does this make sense , what I’m trying to say?

I agree, and think you're 100% correct.
As Diego Ricardo said, this is a play to end amateurism.
The racial component will be what gets the foot in the door, but the end goal for this group IMO (in California) is to have all players compensated, employed, and unionized.

If they want to turn college athletics into a true business model, the departments will have to be profitable to continue to exist, or cuts will be made. That's the reality for them to be able to make "payroll." Departments won't be able to fund these massive projects that result in state of the art facilities. Sports that drain the budget will be cut. Players not performing will be "fired" unless they have guarantees in their contracts. (That will be very interesting to see in at-will employment states). They won't have their medical benefits fully paid for. They'll get a group policy, pay a monthly premium, and have a deductible. They won't get free housing, tuition, a stipend, meals, etc paid for. They can just budget that out with their earnings, take out student loans, etc. Donations will surely go down, so that would lower the budgets for ADs even further. And tbh, if they want to be real about it, there will need to be a CBA, salary caps, fines for misbehavior, and a whole other host of things these ignorant young adults probably aren't even considering. It will also completely do away with the portal and transfers as a whole if they want to become contract employees like professional athletes. They could also be traded without notice, so have fun with that when you get traded from somewhere like Alabama to somewhere like Sam Houston St. That would surely be a hard pill to swallow. I guess a lot of these dreamers will find out how much they're truly worth, and it won't be something a lot of these egotistical prospects want to hear.

I have to wonder when the NFL has something to say about this bc a lot of their profitability is linked to not having to fund developmental leagues.
Why would state funded universities be an appropriate owner of semi-pro football teams. When does a citizens/taxpayer advocacy group sue a state over this?

I've thought one way to solve this bullshite is to leave college exactly like it was (before NIL) and remove any restrictions on high school kids going to the NFL.
If they want to make a go and think they're ready, let them try. If they want a scholarship to get an education with free room and board, training, medical, etc., let them still have that route. That way it's a choice. No one's rights are being "violated."
Some kids could probably take a year or two off and just train for the draft—this would actually work better with an NFL equivalent of the G League, but they would never pay to support that when they already get a free farm league as-is.

They’ll have to if colleges have to completely restructure how they do business and it cuts into their free prospect training grounds.

It's not a civil right. Enough of this bullshite. Same nonsense when you hear gays go on about gay rights. What right exactly is it you don't have that the rest of us do? The answer is none.
