You’re pushing this talking party pretty hard, huh? Of course the classic case of State’s public university deciding not to pay a coach was in Texas.

Actually there is a list of items firing for cause. Did you read that?

LSU going to have to pay the majority of that buyout.
Just accept it and move on

Probably so. He may get another job, but it wouldn’t be anytime soon, and he’s no spring chicken, so nothing is guaranteed.

So what happens if he just wants to retire altogether?

We’ve been through this with Franchione.
What you need is a newsletter scandal.

No No No...
Between the having to look for work clause and the morals clause, when it's all said and done, BK will owe LSU money back. Right?

Well, I believe that television is obviously out and I doubt anyone disagrees.
No school with the ability to pay big money would be interested and I doubt anyone disagrees.
So, here we are.
There will be no mitigating income of any significance.

And it just so happened that right after getting curb stomped by A&M, yall found out about those items and decided to fire him for those reasons, and not at all to do with how the team is playing?
LSU will be stupid to go down that path. Will be terrible publicity and BK's Lawyer won't have any problems weeding out the jury pool to get jurors who are glad to "stick it to the man".
For mitigation all BK needs to do is make copies and send in applications to PSU, Florida, and Arky and the "football work" situation is covered.

Trying to undercut and crawfish out of an established contract is not a good look for LSU. Do they think this won’t cause possible coaching candidates to think twice knowing their future employer is going to try back out of a deal?
