Who's history books?
People can award national championships all they want, it's a free country. I can award Alabama a national championship every year if I want, doesn't mean it's legit.
There is only 1 format that was agreed upon by all schools, and that is the BCS at that time, or playoffs now.
The rest is sour grapes.

USC was the best team in the country by the end of that year .I remember all the talking heads saying the system has to change to get a REAL champion . All the experts agreed that if they let LSU play USC for one last game that year ,USC rolls by 3 TDs . FACTS
