This is their best and possibly only chance at an SEC win this year. Going with an interim would make it a little more chaotic.

I'm also guessing his buyout drops at some point during the season.

The only coach Stricklin hired who has had success is Anthony Nesty in swimming. Nesty is an alumni, gold medalist, and was the assistant swimming coach until he was promoted. The rest of our good coaches were Foley hires.

Who else is supposed to be the interim coach? Dan Enos? The reason Mullen had to go when he did is because he was actively tearing the program down from the inside in order to get his buyout. I don't think Napier will do that. At least, not intentionally.

I'd let him finish. But Florida better crank up the search to maximum during the season. I wonder who is available.

He's currently having his Monday presser.

I was hoping someone else would take the podium, but nope, he's definitely still here.

Our administration is fricking inept.

Serious question...why do fans think it will help the situation to fire a coach in season?

That doesn't make the team better, put MORE responsibilities on the asst. coaches.

Just wait until the end of the season.

Serious answer... ther team is absolute shite. How can it do any damage to get rid of him immediately? There is no possible way firing him immediately would have a negative impact on the team.

If a coach is having a mental breakdown like Mullen was then it makes sense. Napier seems to be a bit more in control and honorable than that though. If he's willing to be a dead man walking and keep leading as best as he can, then let him. I don't like any of these assistants any better as head coach.

A lot of fans say goofy things like "They need to get started early on their coaching search." These people are simply announcing their ignorance to the world and do not know how coaching searches work.

When your coach and staff all know they are going to be fired, they don't do the things they need to do to prepare the team for the next season.

It's a terrible idea to keep a lame duck coach around.

They should put someone like Dan Enos as interim HC. The guy is stupid and full of himself enough that he will actually believe he has a chance at being HC next year. And the staff will also keep trying hoping they get to keep their jobs the next year.

If you don't you get Derek Dooley and Tennessee.
