Biggest chokers in SEC Championship game history

I will rate them like this:
1. 2008 Bama. First #1 ranked SEC team to lose in championship game and lose shot at national.
2. 2001 Tennessee. Not sure what their ranking was, they had lost a game. They had it all set up to make another national championship run and got beat by a second string QB playing for the first time that year.
I cannot think of any other teams that lost a chance to play for a national in the SEC championship game. Any others?

Bama will have a chance to make up for it next year and probably the year after that.

This could be all but 2 Bama teams in terms of the SECCG.

They were ranked #2 that year coming into the game.

I really hope Utah smokes y'all's arse. Mainly because my good friend is a Ute, though

You are correct.
3. LSU 2005 losing to Georgia. First year coach, schedule changes due to hurricane Katrina, and the chaos that storm created probably keeps them at the bottom of this list though.
Any more?

True.. 94 I think it was we were undefeated going into that game, mighta been 93, too lazy to look right now. Wasn't ranked #1, but was right up there. Florida has been our nemesis in the big ones there.

How did Alabama choke ? I know they were ranked #1,but that was a product of 70 years of how polls are conducted. Their opponent was favored and also a game away from playing for the title. 6-6 to 12-0 in one season is not choking--I don't care what team, what level ,what sport.
Tennessee in 2001 ,case closed. Worst team in title game was Arkansas in either '95 or '02 and worst performance was Florida in 1999.

first undefeated SEC Team to lose in championship game. That is a choke.

1994 Alabama was undefeated and lost to Florida 24-23.

Ok whatever you say. Florida was the better team though.

They can go up to number 2.
1. 2008 Alabama
2. 1994 Alabama

You're losing your touch. Not nearly the flame you had before the season started.

I thought this was due to our weak schedule?
Y'all are stabbing each other in the back now.
I'll take choking in Atlanta for the SECCG over choking in the Chik-Fil-A Bowl. Good luck.

I kinda agree with what you are saying, but when you look back in a couple years it will say #1 undefeated Bama loses and that will be the perception.

I-59: being 12-0 and getting smacked is a choke, and the previous year has nothing to do with this year.

no way bama choked. if everyone had expected them to win THAT's choking. but most thought uf would win.
