I think he thinks that when UF won the title with Bell as QB and Spurrier as HC they were taken away. But the fact is they were never taken away they weren't allowed to compete for them then.

For the SECOND time, please show me a link that has Florida having to vacate an SEC due to the NCAA?
I think you are mistaken...

Actually he was wrong, I knew he was wrong, but he instead calls other out.. The NCAA did not strip the title, but the SEC presidents led by UT did...
Also they did not have to vacate or forfeit any games...

And that title's just as vacated as anything. Are you REALLY saying you would rather have the SEC yank a title than forfeit somemeaningless games? REALLY?

It was vacated. does it really matter who vacates it? If you think it does, well, you're an idiot.

They were already on Probation from the Pell stuff when they won it with Bell. Then on probation again because of Galen Hall being a dumbass and doing same exact thing. They almost got shut down for a bit for them also.

The conversation was about vacated victories... Just because a team is better does not make the punishment worse...
Let me see if I get the Bama logic: We sucked, so the penalties do not really count... Florida's penalties are worse in the NCAA eyes because the SEC took action... Is that it?

Losing the '05, '06, and '07 wins still pisses me off. Over fricking textbooks...

No, but you're an idiot, so ill give you a pass.
He says vacating games is the worse thing thats happened. I point out that having to vacate a champion is worse than having to vacate a meaningless game. follow that? No? Well it cant be dumbed down anymore. I would rather forfeit games than championships. If you say you wouldnt, you're a liar or a dumbass.

First I believe it was about more than just some textbooks, but that is not the point...
I do have a serious question.. Would you have preferred the loss of 2 scholarships over two years? That was the rumored penalty, but for some reason the actual penalty was vacates.. Any insight why?

keeping the games was meaningless to the future of the program. We probably negotiated for the wins to be vacated and the scholarships kept because they much mroe important going forward.

Bryant was never caught cheating? By who? This is from Junction Boys...Something tells me he didn't have a road to Damascus experience coming up McFarland.

I'm not reading this thread, but I assume we have all agreed Bear Bryant was by far the biggest and we are searching for number 2, right?
