Reboot the BCS rankings. Direct computer algorithms participating have transparency. Replace the Harris Poll and Coaches Poll (human factor) weighted % with the committee poll.

Top 12 get in, no exceptions. Top 4 get byes. 12 is more than enough. 8 would be better with that format.

meaningless Championship game.

I guess this has something to do with the fact that UT has never won an SEC title and only has two conference titles in 20 years while playing in the BXII...

Where do you get strength of wins? Preseason polls are ridiculous yet will be used to determine strength? Indiana was AP #20 last preseason. You can’t use opinion to determine who gets in a playoff.

The only way to do it is to allow the conferences to pick their own teams. If it’s 24 then you give each P4 conference 5 teams and that allows for 4 others, Then each conference can come up with their own methods to pick their 5. If the SEC wants to use opinion polls to pick 5 then fine. If they ACC wants to split up into 5 divisions and say each division winner goes then fine. If the BIG just wants to play it out and let a computer pick then fine. But there is no way anyone will agree in “strength of schedule”. Bama lost to the #16 ranked ACC team yet they got in because they manipulated the polls to get them in. Is that want we want?

How you pick them is another question I didn’t address.

I am firm we only need 12 best teams and no auto bids. That keeps conf title games too.

We’d have to find the best way to determine the 12. And also, committee should be mandated to not have any conf teams play each other in first round, unless there is no other option. So basically, get your teams 5-12 and then split up games to avoid rematches from same conf

Love this idea. Would also love to see the B1G add 4 more West Coast Teams and then head to Texas and pick up SMU, Houston, Tech, TCU, and Baylor...then head East and pick up Georgia Tech and North Carolina.

Set up just like the NFL..West, South, North, and East Divisions.
