Pruitt would have had better luck if the entire coaching search hadn't been such a clusterfrick, and if the orange marshmallow weren't running the AD.

I know VOLS are unhappy with this class right now, but he will coach a lot of these guys up. On defense, anyway.
3 of UGA's top DBs were guys he recruited/coached up and none of them were highly rated on 247 composite. Levi Wallace was a walk-on at Alabama and he became one of the best corners in the SEC.
UGA had one of the worst pass defenses in the SEC when he got there and they went on to finish top 5 nationally two years in a row. He will get a lot out of the guys he has.

Don’t matter who you hire.. you will get beaten by Nick and Kirby.. unless you somehow hire one of them. Maybe go get Myers or Dabo.. but not many can compete or hang at that level. Might want to compare to more reachable goals.. Mullen, O, Gus.. hell even maybe Jimbo. What you need to look for is a coach that will put a decent product on the field, but if your going to fire every coach that loses to UGA or Bama.. you will go through one every year. Set your sights on beating Florida

Pruitt has to remove the stain Butch Jones left on UT.
Pruitt proved himself to be an incredible recruiter at FSU, UGA, and Alabama while always delivering top-5 defenses.
The difference in our defense within his first year was incredibly obvious, and was sad to see him leave for Alabama.
If Pruitt can't recruit or win at Tennessee right away, I highly doubt anyone will be able to.
