Exactly. I am not interested in final 8s. I get that they look cool and all and is good for recruiting. But i'm interested in championships.

I mean if you can't see the progress we are making then you are in denial. We used to rarely even make the dance until Pearl got here. We have been on a solid upward trajectory since. I wasn't a huge fan of Cunzo but he was a good ambassador and Barnes is killing it overall.
Our team's weakness this year was relying on three point shooting to much. Killed us in crunch time against Michigan. We have even a decent day shooting 3s and we win that game very easily by double digits. Went 2/18.
We need a truly dominant big to make the next leap imo.

Even Kentucky hangs Final 4 banners so no one should have a problem with that either. Although those need to be kept in context considering how short the tournament used to be.

That + only one team per conference going + NCAAT not even being the clear cut premier tournament until the 1970s.

The banners prove otherwise. Your biggest, best banner is the Elite 8 one, so, obviously it trumps the banner next to it with all the conference wins listed...

That's a fair assessment.
Where you relied on the three too much, we couldn't rely on it all. We were a poor shooting team. Especially from the three point line.
We need another big man or two to play with Williams and we need this incoming class to shoot as advertised to make the next step.
All the BS aside, the SEC is making up some ground in CBB. Arkansas, Bama, Auburn, Tennessee, and Kentucky should all be pretty good next season. I'm curious to see if A&M can keep the momentum going. Vandy appears to be recruiting well. With all the coaching changes, a lot of the other teams are a big question mark right now.

Of course you aren’t interested in elite 8s because you can’t get there. You have to get there before you have a chance at a championship.
The more you stay interested the more you’ll learn.

Rumor is that Coach K is interested in the Vanderbilt job, so he can get a SECt trophy some day.
Personally, I bet he reconsiders retirement and returns to Duke, since VT ruined his final year by winning the ACCT. The Hokies are the best team in the ACC, after all.
