It's good food for thought and much, much better than the incessant troll threads started on here. But will be interested to see how it looks come June. Hard to give it a ton of weight yet with basketball halfway through and baseball not even started. I mean teams that start in the top 10 in the preseason rankings may have horrific seasons (see LSU football, sadly, for an example).

Absolutely - I really only threw baseball in there because some folks asked for preseason polls last time.

It's cute you pretend to care about volleyball since you can't compete with us in the true sport that counts, football.

To be honest, the part that shocked me is Ice Hockey is #3 in revenue. Would never have guessed that.

Same - but their crowds at those things are gigantic. It's basically the equivalent of basketball for them in terms of turnout.

I guess I missed it, do you always do in the middle of the year before a season even starts or one of the Big 3 is only half way finished ? Because we all know how important preseason rankings are.

Yep, generally start posting them around the time football ends and basketball is halfway through.

I generally do not post those, but the last round of this last week received lots of "but baseball has preseason polls out" follow-up, so I indulged.
Personally, I wouldn't include them. But even then there is a FB/MBB only edition included that doesn't have baseball at all, so you can skip it.

Why post BB half way thru the season ? I guess it is best before the typical end of season collapse some teams suffer every year.

I get it now that I think about it. It's also very regionalized and only played in areas that love hockey. Just for some reason never associated college hockey with huge crowds.

I always thought they did that for TV interest and potential matchup hype. Are you saying that is why you are doing it ?

No dumbass, I was just wondering the purpose of a post where half the information hasn't even occurred yet. I guess some people like living in a world of what might happen instead of what is happening. It is the same people complaining about OSU only playing 6 games and saying they probably would have lost a game if they played a complete season. I guess you can have it both ways in Sports.
