I have no reason to doubt that the letter was sent in confidence but I find it strange to make an FOI request and make it public. What is the motive?

The Arkansas media pulls the FOI card more than Al Sharpton pulls the race card.

The same as the motive for those who FOI'd Houston Nutt. Arkansas media is all about exposing the truth

Houston Nutt was lying and that's the reason in that case. Why expose this? To prove he's honest? I have no reason to doubt Jeff Long's word when he mentioned the letter.

No worries on that. I'm sure Gadsden High School didn't have any courses on professional decorum or gentile civility.

We're taught to send a thank you note, the old ways of pen to paper is more personal and thoughtful than a txt msg. It's ok, I understand the butthurt blinds you from what is a classy move.

Bama fans and class, can only mean one thing. The DWI class to get your license back.

Reminds me of an old joke.

Auburn fan dies and goes to heaven. St. Pete meets him at the Pearly Gates and offers to show him around. They come upon a huge mansion replete with Alabama flags and a houndstooth hat perched on the front porch handrail.

The Auburn fan asks, "Is that Bear Bryant's house?"

St. Pete says, "Nah. That's God's. He just thinks he's Bear Bryant."

What he wrote was not a thank you note.

Translates to we won't win many, but we will do it right.

Thanks Jeff

Didn't several coaches send similar letters?

Yes.

Apparently, CBB will send hand written letters commenting on events such as what Arkansas and Long did. In this case he sent a letter of praise.

I suppose he will send a letter of displeasure to ADs or Coaches if he is aware of something occurring he does not agree with.

IIRC he said he sends out several hand written letters a year, he didn't specify if they were specific to just football, college football, but I guess he if he notices something in the news he agrees with he writes a letter of praise and mails it off.

No biggie.

It was much closer to a job application than a thank you note.

For those who don't get the reference, this is what he said about the SEC a year ago...before deciding to whore himself to the money.

Feel free to hero worship him for his "integrity" all you want. One nice thing about being a Bama fan is that we can't kid ourselves about our coach being a "nice guy"...so we aren't in the position you are in right now.

Society wants to win them all? More like society will ensure you win them all, or you'll be looking for a new job.

Most Arkansas fans didn't want to get rid of Petrino. Why? Because he was winning lots of football games.

Welcome to the SEC.

Until he sends one to the next major AD that has a coaching opening.

Dr Mr McGarrity

The way you handled Coach Richts tenure and departure from the program was wonderful. I have always been a Georgia fan.

Basically tBeacon got the best coach that fits the university and state. We're religious to the core, will sacrifice our best interests if it means doing things honest, correctly, and ethically. (now our politicians are worthless scumbags).

Bama got the best coach that fits you guys perfectly. Can only win with superior talent and has boosters that will cheat to no end to ensure he gets that superior talent all while smiling and telling fat lies throught their Little Debbie sugar ridden teeth.
