Chavis is the most valuable coach on that staff. No question about it

Apparently that Updyke only has two or three sentences in his/her/it's arsenal. I don't figure it would last ling anyway.

No he's not. He may be the best X and O mind on the staff, but as far as value I'd place him behind Miles and Frank Wilson

Hard to argue with this. Miles benefits from LSU's wealth of instate talent, but y'all know as well as us he's a dumbass.

I see. So why was Bielema your school's second choice behind......'the dumbass' ????????
You may just be the stupidest human on the planet.

Why did Archer, Hallman, and Dinardo not 'benefit from LSU's instate talent' ????

1. Miles was NEVER offered by Arkansas. It was a ploy by his agent to get a raise. Long had Bielema locked down for weeks.
2. Saban brought winning back to LSU after decades of mediocrity. Miles has benefited from this, but couldn't have done it if not preceded by the success Saban had.

Miles being a dumbass. Hell he shoulda loss to that assclown JL Smith.

I don't get it. LSU fans are Mile's biggest critics, but when someone else repeats things that have been asserted by you own fanbase, y'all get all pissy.

All joking aside, does anyone really think Miles would've gotten LSU to the elite status they now enjoy if Saban didn't leave him an elite program?

So in Miles' first 3 years with Saban's sophs, juniors and seniors, the players just COACHED THEMSELVES ????? All the coaches were just like....cardboard cutouts on the sideline ???

And what happened with Saban's freshmen in '08 ??
8-5 is elite???

This is a hypothetical that we'll never know for sure. It is common knowledge that Lsu wasn't a national brand, or even a regional brand before saban got there. They got a lot of in state kids and lost a lot of in state kids. Ed Reed, Warrick Dunn off the top of my head.

There is no denying that Saban put Lsu on the map nationally and made it a destination school for prospects coast to coast. I think he made miles job a lot easier. Les was a good, not great coach at oklahoma state when he was hired. He had never won the big 12. I don't think it's far fetched to think that Les wouldn't have had near the success if he was Dinardo's successor rather than Saban's successor.

Saban awoke a sleeping giant. Miles has fed the giant to ensure it doesn't die. Not everyone is capable of waking a giant, and not everyone is capable of feeding one. We know at least les is capable of the latter

Pelini was a helluva d coordinator for you guys. Y'alls offense has ALWAYS underachieved since Mile was on the sideline. If he ever gets just and average d coordinator, y'all is f$%ked.

Bielema's resume coming into the league is alot more impressive than Miles was. I will credit Miles for maintaining SOME of Saban's success. Once again, I doubt if Miles ever wins another NC at LSU.

1. How TF do YOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUU know ?????????
Miles' agent never contacted Arkansas, they contacted him.....
2. Saban brought winning back to LSU after TWO YEARS (1998 and 1999) of mediocrity. 'Decades'?? Really ????????

If you recall, Socrates, Dinardo won 27 games and 3 straight bowl games in 1995, 1996, amd 1997.HE brought winning back after the SIX YEARS of Archer/Hallman.
Where in the everloving hell do you get "decades" of mediocrity ???? To wit:

LSU had three losing seasons in the '80's....3
We also went to 6 bowl games, and won 3 SEC titles in the '80's, and had 7 winning seasons...

LSU had one losing season in the '70's.....1
We also went to 8 bowl games, & won an SEC title,
and had 9 winning seasons......

LSU had zero losing seasons in the '60's.....0
We also went to 7 bowl games,& won an SEC title, and had 8 winning seasons (and 1 .500).....

Again, you have just proven your hawg-jowl stupidity.....I can understand your butthurtness though. 41-17 and 20-13

Of course Miles is the worst coach in the SEC, he's 'special'.

That just makes his record in the SEC that much sweeter.

Other coaches must HATE losing to the retard all the time.

This isn't even debatable, you're absolutely right here. However, as I noted earlier, Miles stepped into a top 5 program that was bringing in recruits from all over. Miles also had the advantage of a fertile recruiting ground and with Lsu's recent success before he arrived louisiana kids wanted to stay home and play. I think this is the main reason you see a lot of the top players in the state today torn between bama and lsu. When they started following CFB an lsu team led by nick saban was a powerhouse.

The situations are nothing alike. Arkansas isn't a destination school. They aren't going to come into texas or louisiana or mississippi or florida or alabama and pull out a few of the states top 10 prospects. It's not going to happen with a guy like bielema, there are kids in the south that don't know him from adam and he's stepping into a dumpster fire.
